On-loan winger Marc Albrighton has been recalled by Paul Lambert two days earlier. Albrighton featured in all 4 League games for Wigan during his stay and it appears Albrighton has improved on his fitness. Owen Coyle and Albrighton both want to stay at Wigan for a longer period of time, but Lambert has recalled Albrighton earlier which may offer the young winger a glimmer of hope of featuring in the first team again this season.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it,” Albrighton said in the Wigan Evening Post. “I know that the clubs will probably talk on whether they’re going to extend the loan, I’d happily renew the contract and get a few more games here, definitely.
“As it stands I’ll be in training for a couple of days here and then go back. I’d definitely like to stay though.
I’d be a little surprised if Aston Villa and Wigan can’t agree another loan deal. As of right now, I still don’t believe Albrighton will be given much of a chance at Aston Villa. But, I’d liked to be proved wrong. Maybe Lambert does see Albrighton featuring in a few games before January. Albrighton had a very bright future and many believed he’d be a superstar, he was phenomenal for Aston Villa 3 years ago. Still, I honestly don’t see him featuring against Sunderland this weekend with so many players having returned from injury (Agbonlahor, Weimann and Delph)
Could it be at long last he see’s the need of an wing player, that and midfield on Monday night did help us to get two goals, Abonglahor went wide, Delf sat back, someone on here did remark Lambert seems to put players on and change the game as he see’s it. Albrighton is not the best in the game but he’s the most experience we have.
Wow this is incredible news Champions League here we come LOL
To be fair to the guy, a lot of Wigan fans have been saying how he gives them a much better attacking threat and considering how he used to have a great cross on him and he actually stays out on the wing, it would give us width which we lack so much! definitely a different option if Lambert decides we need to change it up a bit I suppose.
I think we need someone like him we need to spread the play get balls in to benteke and play a 4 3 3 properly instead of narrow and no more long balls please such a waste of time
Now we are talking sense, that’s my thought lads, we lack width, let’s give it a go .
Bit odd as he wanted to stay, which would have been good. Do we really have that big of an injury crisis to need him?
Either way:
Siegrist went to Burton Albion on an emergency loan.
Enda Stevens has joined Doncaster on loan
Jordan Graham went to Ipswich on loan as well.
Given joins Middlesbrough on loan. A lot of movement today.
Hi folks im testing with this UC browser hope it works.
Certainly worked then Giddy.
I’m having my own world of pain trying to reply at the minute and have had to move to firefox for a bit.
Cheers mate.utv
true about how narrow we are, I mean like extremely narrow, when you’re in the holte you can see it very clearly and while I know that’s our current style you’ve got to have options to widen the play and we do need more crosses coming in.
