Manchester City’s forgotten centre-back Dedryk Boyata has been linked with a summer move to Aston Villa. The 23-year old defender hasn’t played too many games for Man. City and has previously went out on loan to Bolton and FC Twente. It’s believed that Paul Lambert is an admirer of the defender and may even make a bid this summer.
Aston Villa have struggled defensively again this season with either Ciaran Clark nor Nathan Baker able to play consistently well. Granted, Jores Okore is coming back from injury, Lambert may be interested in bringing Boyata in as a potential replacement for either Baker or Clark. This move is likely, with Man. City likely to continue their pursuit of FC Porto defender Mangala.
It’s believed that Aston Villa will make this summer one of the biggest in their recent club history. Randy Lerner may be prepared to spend a little more money this summer in an effort to push Aston Villa higher up in the table.
Have no idea what the lads like but can’t be any worse than Clarke.
You say Lambert’s an admirer of the young CB, I’m sure we all will take his word for it, I don’t think. Don’t he know any midfielders ? Has he seen that video about himself and getting worried about the 11.0 -9.0 thumping, as I’ve said he’s a buffoon no tactical knowledge he do better going back home and run a 3 division Scottish team.
If this is true, for once I’m gonna back Lambert. A lot of fans (not all, maybe not you, but a lot), complained that there wasn’t a CB brought in to replace Okore. I personally complained because Clark, Baker nor Vlaar have stayed fit all season and tactically playing 3 at the back with 3 CB’s is completely stupid. Just because we’re linked with a defender doesn’t mean Villa won’t move for a midfielder… Lambert likes to buy a lot, kind of like a cheap O’Neill or Redknapp with the same styles, so there’s bound to be a fair few signings.
