Out of favour Villa midfielder, Marc Albrighton is a loan target for Championship team Derby County. The 23-year-old winger has endured a tough time this season with not a single appearance after 4 games. A move to the Championship will prove to be a significant step down considering the fact that fast, skilled winger was once labelled as one of Villa’s most exciting prospects.
Derby County manager Nigel Clough is looking to add quality players to his team and wants to use the loan market as an opportunity to increase competition among the squad.
I was reading in August that Paul Lambert would allow Albrighton to go out on loan for some game time but I think he’s good enough to actually play for the team. We’ve brought in Kozak, he works best with service out wide. That’s exactly what Albrighton can offer to any team. Aston Villa has brought in Tonev for some additional threats out-wide, but he’s yet to be used out wide. Maybe Lambert will play Albrighton soon? But the most likely scenario right now is a loan move to Derby.
I’d say let him go. People are claiming he’s been awesome for us but he’s had a few good games at best, like when he smoked Evra with ease, but everyone does that nowadays. He’s not going to get into the team so a loan move is best for him.
I agree, but lately he’s also only ‘had a few games at best’. Given more games with the first 11 I think we’d see the benefits. That said, right now he’s not getting in the first 11, so let him go on loan and THEN we’ll see the benefits.
Grealish also went on loan to Notts County till January.
Its a shame that its panned out for him to go on loan, not his fault that injures came along, but remember he’s a Villa fan and born in this City. I think as QMKevin points out not been given his chance, others was. Good luck to the lad.
