Would like to sign Darder – Inter Milan were close to signing him recently for 10m euros, but think that FFP got in the way of a deal at the time. At 21 lots of improvement is possible, and a midfield trio of Sanchez holding, Gueye and Darder would be interesting to see especially with their eyes for a pass towards players who can now play such as Grealish and Gil and possibly Ayew.

Definitely need cover at the back as i think Sherwood would get rid of both Baker and Senderos, and someone who can play RB and CB would be useful especially with Okores out for a little while. No idea how good this lad is, hopefully decent enough and was a Spanish U21 international – for the price worth a shout as its a position we need but also still need to spend elsewhere on our team.

Sounds like he can do a job anywhere across the back four which is useful as our centre halves are always injured. Though he’s only a million pound player at best so will do a job and no more at best.

I agree. Senderos and Baker have to go and I am now concerned about Okore. There is such a thing as being unlucky with injuries in football, but there is a much bigger category of being injury-prone. This comes from the way players play the game – particularly how they set themselves for a collision. I now think Okore is injury prone.

Speed is of the essence, I am not talking about rushing out to sign players, but the pace at which they can run. We are likely to play in a style which invites counter-attacks again this season, and all defenders we have must be able to run as fast without the ball as EPL attackers can run with it. I hope Crespo has been timed.

Wilkins on Talksport this morning (no OohAh I wasn’t listening to the show) quoted as telling Brazil Ayew having medical today and hopeful that Adebayor will join the club soon. Personally I would be happy with Adebayor on a 1 year loan or for a nominal fee. He has loads of experience and we know he has a good relationship with TS. On his day he’s still one of the best strikers in the PL.

That’s the point ‘on his day’ very rarely happens. On his day john Carew was good means nothing. He’s very erratic the type of player that will score 5 goals in fist few games then do nothing for the rest of the season plus bound to have long term injuries.

The key thing as well is that Spuds will be picking up a percentage of his wages apparently, so seems like a great short term option if we play to his strengths. It’s a 1 season loan that will cost us part of his wages. Seems like a good option to me, he was a great player at Arsenal IMO

Has I said before, we only have to finish 4 places higher than last season to collect approximately £8 mil more in prize money……and I think we will do that! That will comfortably pay his wages even without help from Spuds……a real no brainer IMO

Lets get these two boys in and if Gil, Grealish and Sanchez can play up to what they can do, there is a decent 1st team shaping up!

Still net -£15m spent so far, so should expect a few more through the door hopefully 3x £10m players if Lerner holds his side of the bargain…Striker, AM and CM for me or if the CM can be attacking (Praet) another CB would be good

Must admit that I’d like to hear that Cambiaso’s signed next. He’d only last the season in all likelihood but his experience and leadership in mid-field would be priceless while other younger players find their feet.

As for Adebayor, Tim must know if he can get him playing or not and even if he only got him up to 50% or so and brought him on as a super-sub I’d bet he’d score quite a few goals.

    Well lets see –
Amavi, Gueye, Ayew, Crespo, Richards plus Gil and Kozak being virtually new signings, just another 4 and we’d have a completely new team!

Would love to get Cambiasso – still one heck of a player. Without him it’s likely Leicester wouldn’t have survived. Their player of the season and the fans are gutted he hasn’t signed again – is that because he’s in talks with other sides including Villa?

I’m in favour of a short term Adebayor deal; nothing to lose IMHO.

Would like to see another attacking mid (Praet?) and a big younger central striker (Gestede) that can learn from Adebayor. Don’t think we will be in for Austin. Finally still not sure about Guzan!

H60….agree with most of that mate. However, I dont think Guzan is quite as bad as some are claiming. I’m always mindful that, very rarely, in the last couple of seasons have we had a settled back 4. I will judge him after we see the same back 4 playing 15-20 or so consecutive games. Its never easy for a keeper to read a defence that is constantly changing.

Let’s get something straight I’m no DB fan but in that one season his goals were the only reason we stayed up (we owe him a debt of gratitude for that) and you have to remember we played to his strengths with two wingers putting the ball in the box.
Turn him round and play him with his back to gaol and he’s just totally infective, it’s just not his game.
