I feel I owe a bit of an apology. Well, I don’t really, but I’m a nice guy and feel a bit guilty about not commenting much lately.
I want to do a Max Bygraves and tell you a story.
I’ve been with Virgin Media for their broadband for the 25 years I’ve lived here. And probably 10 years before that, when it was Birmingham Cable, then Blueyonder.
And so it came to renewal time. Long story short, they wanted 54 quid a month for 200ish Mb. Which is a total joke. I rang to negotiate, but they weren’t having any of it.
So, sick of this total ripoff, I told them I was done and cancelled.
The reason Virgin have been able to charge so much is because there’s no competition. I remember Openreach installing Fibre down our street about 2 years ago. We’re the last house in the block. I thought they’d done ours too, but they hadn’t and because of that , Virgin knew we had no choice if we wanted an ounce of speed.
Which is where I looked around and Vodafone said we had Fibre installed and they could do me a deal. I signed up and long story short again, They’ve messed me about for 2 months now, with no installation.
They’ve even credited my account with 300 quid for my trouble. Great, except I’ve never used any of their services.
Hence I’m hotspotting off my phone for internet and it’s abysmal. Some days I can’t even get half a Mb.
And so it was for the Brugge game. I saw the first goal and missed the other 3, because of buffering.
The moral of the story?
The big boys have it all their own way and rip you off. Until the customer decides he’s had enough.
And the funny part of all this, is that while I await Openreach giving me a supposed connection, I’m here in Spain for the weekend, where my 600Mb up/down connection is working perfectly at around a quid a day. Go figure. Which one is the third world country, I ask myself? Spain or the UK? I’m happy with my thoughts.
Tomorrow then and I don’t have a clue again.
Squad news is that Unai’s comments confuse me somewhat.
Tyrone Mings, Matty Cash, Boubacar Kamara and Pau Torres are sort of okay, but need to be protected. Barkley is out, as is Onana, who is apparently close. GarcΓa, Malen and Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba {sorry, but who?} are all okay after being ineligible for Europe.
As for Brentford,Norgaard is back after a concussion injury and Mathius Jensen will be involved. Rico Henry is in full training, while Gustavo [Nunes], Igor [Thiago] and Josh [Dasilva] are all running.
I wish they’d just say if they’re ready or not, but hey ho.
It’s quite simple, this one. We’re rubbish, so the best I expect is a 1-1 draw.
Except I think we really ought to start proving that we’re better than what I perceive.
I think we might sneak this, 2-1. I’d love that. A win it is.
UTV!
I don’t believe that before it became known that Asensio was out for injury that someone would lie about the fight with McGinn, I read something about an unprofessional altercation or something about them lines yesterday or the day before can’t remember, but now all of a sudden he’s injured after coincidentially not playing after that headline
Anyways, with that half, I thought to myself as Olsen played it long from kick-off that we were going to go direct, but kept it to myself for another 2 minutes and then I’d seen enough to announce to my family that I’d worked out our game plan.
He wants us to play the early ball every time, funny thing is he’s benched the players which are better for that haha.
Second half he’ll probably change the tactic then bring on the players more suited to the original tactic, lol.
Expecting Rashford or Malen HT. UTV!
Fake injuries – more spoofing by Emery. If he is worried about players needed for Wednesday being clattered by ‘roughhouse’ Brentford he would start Malen and Garcia who cannot play Wednesday. Sid – what do you mean by ‘outbid order’ – were they playing cards or at the salad bar?
Cash on for Bailey at HT. I am genuinely questioning some of Unai Emery’s decisions.
You guys could teach Trump a thing or two about conspiracy theories.
Badger. Me too. Out of loyalty and laziness I kept renewing with BT until I saw the latest DD at Β£92. Switched to Talk-talk for Β£38. BT threatened me by email, then my phone line was switched with someone else’s – coincidence? I don’t think so. It is a sign of our times, everything you renew like insurances and subscriptions leaves you open to rip off if you don’t shop around.
Get in, Ollie!
6 in 6 against them.
1-0
Ha ha Rogers 2= 0
This is magic football
Off.
Clear and obvious? No fucking chance was it.
1-0
They need to change this to daylight between the players cause he looked level to me and how do you tell the exact time the pass was played forward?
It’s bullshit and I’d put my mortgage on if that had have been the say dippers and Salah he’d have been given on.
I’ve said it before and I’ll f***** say it again. If you need to draw f****** lines to check it, it’s not clear and obvious! There’s no advantage to the attacker! And it’s not offside! T.WATS!
Yet another marginal decision which goes against us and gives Brentford a boost!
Kamara on for McGinn. I’m fine with that, as I don’t think McGinn has been at his best for a while.
Disasi having a blinder
We deserve to lose this. I’m about ready to scream into a pillow. Why do we keep going backwards??????! FFS!!!! π«π«π«π€¬π€¬π€¬π‘
Shockingly bad from Ollie.
F****** dreadful.
F****** DIRTY BASTARD!!! SHOULD BE A RED!!!
We should be comfortably 3rd.
Dogshit, but it’s a win.
I’ll take it.
Me too mate.
Win dirty Badger when it matters – not dog shit.
Didn’t enjoy that a all. But what a win. Well done to all concerned. πππ
Hard earned win.
Disasi and Digne were outstanding and Disasi should get MoM. Chelsea called him Disaster – why?
Fair play to Olsen but the defence really protected him – great team performance.
And I got it completely wrong.
Hands up, so did I Hitch. Any many others, I suspect.
I’m happy to be called out as wrong all season if it means we win games.
And Olsen got a clean sheet. π€―
Itβs just like I said before, play Olsen and we will finally get a premier league clean sheet π
