Can We Still Keep The Faith?

imageHi all big UTV
I’ve read a piece today from our official site AVFC official.Seems that PL,RL & PF have all this shared vision of AVFC & the building has only just begun.
I have read from certain sites that we are to bring 2-3 players in this January window who they are I’m not so sure but I will do some digging & drop the names in if I can find them.
We have fallen onto rocky times recently and I sang myself to the point were I lost my voice against Swansea. My passion took over you probably saw me at the front of the Holte standing up screaming and shouting and singing lol Green Parker burgundy villa hat lol but to no avail. We sat back soaked up the pressure this is no good.
But it still seems PL,RL & PF have this vision. Here are PL comments
“We have taken it right back. I have been supported in it by Randy and Paul.

“It’s a great challenge. And, believe it or not, I enjoy it.

“You have to try and build it. Myself, Randy and Paul know exactly what is going on.

“You have to try to stick to your beliefs and do things as you see fit.

“A football club has to have a vision through good times and bad times otherwise you keep going back to square one. You have to start somewhere and lay a brick. That’s what we have done.

“We have a plan. There’s a long road with it. It’s a challenge you relish. I relish it.

“We’re trying to build the club, build something lasting and that takes time.

“There is no question that we are evolving and developing as a squad.

“We believe in what we’re doing and trust one another within the group.

“Our core strength will overcome the setbacks we face along the way, which are an inevitable part of the journey.

“In terms of support, Randy has been excellent. He’s been great with me.

“If you look at the way things were going last year, he stuck with it and his support was great.

“I am not sure he enjoys it all the time. He’d be like anyone on a rollercoaster, throwing up now and again.

“The good thing about him is he’s been in sport for many years, not just a couple. He understands.”
Take from this what you will and make your own minds up can we keep the faith?

Someone had disabled comments for this post (JD?? :-))

Now enabled, unless JD doesn’t want any, where he can turn them off again.

It’s very hard for me to keep the faith with anything that’s said lately, JD.

I see Gabby is now being used for the bullshit PR offensive that’s coming out of the club and the truth is that’s exactly what I think of it; offensive.

Do they think think we’re stupid or something?

More PR spin. Nothing more. The club could have easily bought in decent players in positions we needed rather than take the entire squad back to Div 4 quality.
It’s just more bullshit. Apart from one or two players, the rest are on pennies compared to other teams in our position. Pay peanuts, get monkeys. It wouldn’t be so bad if we were a genuinely small club like Wigan who really don’t have the income, but we do, and Randolph is pocketing it all

Planning for the future? Mmmm. Firstly, if this is the future then that means things will get worse, which is hard to believe! Secondly, the 3 idiots are planning for the future with a manager that has just over 1-year left on his contract. Its totally pathetic.

Few remained more positive than me throughout last season!
I gave Lerner, Lambert and the team the benefit of doubt hoping/expecting improved signings once we had crawled over the relegation line. I called for a minimum of 3 experienced PL players at a total cost of approx 20 mil…not too much to ask for IMO.
We went down the quantity, rather than QUALITY route and this has been our downfall. We could have had for example…Gareth Barry, Tom Huddlestone and perhaps Wanyama and Ryan Bertrand for not much more than what we spent! Had we gone down that route, then Maybe we would be sitting comfortably mid table with at least 7 more points that what we currently have.
I believe that the January transfer window is the last chance saloon for Lerner/Faulkner/Lambert to get the balance right.
The club MUST be seen to be making progress every year. We have not witnessed that. Moreover, the football played is atrocious. There is no one who is comfortable at passing the ball around. It really is quite simple….when we have the ball, the opposition CANNOT
score. So buy quality and NOT quantity in this window……that is my New Year wish!
And finally……Fuck off Lerner, the Villa is OURS!

A plan, are they having a laugh we have got worse with each season so their plan is in 5 years to be even shitter – how can they have a plan, we have an atrocious Manager without any tactical nous, an owner who is absent and a CEO with little footballing knowledge. They spew out this awful PR bullshit spin purely because they hold the fans with so much contempt and can’t be arsed to come out with anything concrete.
Everything is done on cheap and I think the club are an absolute disgrace !
Fuck off the lot of them !!!

Cheers Giddy, for the past 3 seasons I have seen the light (maybe I’m just getting cynical), but just see the club as utter bullshit.
5 year plans and us being linked to big players when season tickets go on sale, getting players on the cheap that are simply utter shite, and freezing players out that have saved us from relegation, just because the club chose to pay them too much, the way the stewards treat you at Villa park… The list goes on !

Stewards are the biggest jobsworths on the planet. Get paid 10 bob an hour and a meat pie and they think they’ve arrived because they’ve got a bit of power ffs. Nearly as bad as doctors receptionists. Agree mate the club is going nowhere and tbh iv totally lost interest now I couldn’t even be bothered to walk 5 mins down the rd to local to watch game on a dodgy satallite channel. I don’t even care if we lose any more whereas years ago I was gutted if we lost. Completely drained of this club shitest clueless idiots on the planet run it and they deserve relegation as hard as that is to say.

The hope has always been that once Wage issue has been sorted then the restrictions can be lifted.

Well Lerner here is your chance to prove it now, the money is there to get a quality player on 40-50k a week so if we do not get one int he winter

    So it can be

    1) Lerner will not back the manager

    and/or

    2) The Manager can not deal with quality experienced pros

    lets see

which is why I never wanted Lambert, he is a small time manager who can deal with no names and no marks but not ego’s …

Stories from Norwich were mixed but this is someone who fell out with Grant Holt !

Ian the bloke is an egotistical moron, he put our big names, that kept us from relegation in the bomb squad and refused to give them an explanation…..Even if they are complete mercenaries it is still bloody disrespectful and proves he can only handle inexperienced kids.

to answer the post title, no, we can’t keep the faith. Any Villa fan out there who can see any progress or optimism are blinded.

I wanted Lambert appointed and was very happy with what he did when he came in and I did see progress for the first season. That stopped and went down the drain.

We look to be going backwards. I mentioned in a post a while back that relegation could be more likely this season than last, I really hoped I was wrong but it looks like that I might not be.

We need proper investment this January or we are going down. We won’t be able to do what we did last season again this year.

There is a plan, LERNERS PLAN.
Sell of all the assets, keep as much of the revenue as possible, pay yourself interest on money loaned, Eventually GET ALL AND MORE MONEY back when club sold.
Manipulate the naĂŻve fans who are so blinkered can not see LERNERS PLAN.
Employee managers to take the flack and fans displeasure, using the manager in a calculated way to deflect from LERNERS plan.
Lerner appears now to consider fourth from bottom success, it is in his mind, he still gets the Sky money.
Surely now even the most staunch Lerner fans can see he is destroying our club.
    LERNER OUT.

I currently see us as being the worse team in the premiership dispite our current position and the teams who are supposedly worse than us, the football I have seen from us this season is without doubt going backwards not forwards and its clear to see.
the problem is the lack of balance, I like the idea of young and hungry ect but to do it right you have 4 or 5 of these players max and you blood them slowly with rotation and sub time building their confidence and see if they come good, what you don’t do is take a squad of young inexperienced players and pit them week in week out against some of the best players and teams in the world, playing poorly and getting beat week in week out will destroy these players.
I unlike lambert am not relishing it at all, i approach every game at the moment expecting to loose and I feel that secretly the team does too, that much was evident when we took an early lead against Swansea, you just absolutely knew from the first few minutes after the goal that they were going to score.
whats more I don’t feel the unity and team spirit in the squad that I felt last season despite the antics with gabbys goal celebrations on Saturday. that is of course just my feeling, or the feeling im getting from watching us this season.
also, experience, experience, experience, its clearly demonstrated by the absence of vlarr, its no coincidence we’ve fell to pieces since his injury, its seems he was doing an even better job than I thought and seems to hold the team together because without him, well you only have to have seen the games to see it. so if that’s what one experienced player can do(and vlarr isn’t that experienced really especially prem wise)imagine what just a couple of decent players would do for us and the squad, its a no brainer.
all that said im expecting more of the same in jan and I expect learner to stick with lambert whatever unless we get relegated and maybe even then.
its all pretty grim, I hope to god it changes somehow.
