Crystal Palace 1-0 Villa; We’re in serious trouble. Again!

Well I think most of us knew that was coming, didn’t we?

We were again shocking and even the commentator summed it up when he said we look devoid of any fluidity or cohesiveness.
I think he forgot to mention the lack of any creativity or attacking threat or even quality in that particular sentence.

The game can be summed up on our part by saying Wiemann had a good chance very well saved a few minutes before full time.
And that’s it, for me. Palace were far the better side and make no mistake about it, saying that about any side that has Cameron Jerome in it just makes me feel totally sick. The fact that Puncheon and Bolasie looked a class above any of our players makes me feel worse.

I didn’t have a good feeling about this game from the off and picking a 5-3-2 against the mighty Palace didn’t help either, but what do I know?

Palace sat back and let us play for the first quarter of an hour or so, just to see what we offered, but the reality was we offered absolutely nothing.
We knocked the ball continually sidewards and backwards, making no headway whatsoever.
Until you could practically see the Palace players thinking “hold on a minute, they’re crap”.
Which was where they began to open their game up and show us up for the mugs that we unfortunately are.
And make no mistake about it.
We were incredibly poor. Again.

Anyway, that’s enough of that. I get thoroughly fed up of constantly having to say just how poor we are.

That’s one of the three games gone, where I said we really ought to get three points if Lambert has any chance whatsoever of keeping his job and the truth is I’m struggling to see where our next point is coming from.
I’ve heard lots of mention that we’re inconsistent, but that’s rubbish in my opinion.
We’re just totally lacking in quality all over the pitch.

If Lerner and Faulkner are seriously still thinking of extending Lambert’s contract now, well it’ll only prove how deluded they are.

Don’t care if we go down any more, the only thing that matters is getting rid of Lamberk and Lerner.
We deserve to be relegated anyway, unambitious pathetic joke managed by a complete and utter moron.

Lerner deserves to go down it will fuck up his investment big time especially if we are there for a few years or so. Like I say enoughs enough. People that buy season tickets and spend money to watch that rubbish do so out of a misguided loyalty. Well I’m sorry if our own chairman can’t be arsed to watch us why Shoukd we?

Saving graces. Fulham need 5 points from 4 games, but three of those are Hull, Stoke, and Palace. Can’t see Norwich getting another point either. Pool (H), ManU (A), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H). Fucking hate this. There’s no risk anymore in firing the manager, and it might spark the team for at least one game. Get Laudrup in before the Swansea game. If we don’t win any more, we weren’t going to anyway. So fuck it.

We will probably fluke a result somewhere like we normally do. I agree we are lucky Norwich have a tough run in. Liverpool will prob win 6.0 there next week the form they are in.

Amid all the calls for Lambert / Lerner to go there seems to be little criticism of the coaching staff / back up team. I know Lambert is the manager and he carries the can, rightly so, but who are our coaching staff? What pedigree has Culverhouse got? Who else coaches the first team? A Premier league club needs specialist coaches to take sessions and drill in routines. What do we have? On the evidence of the last 2 years very little indeed.
I don’t buy any of the excuses about we can’t attract big names, don’t pay big wages, the players are no good. In my view the coaching is rotten and that’s the problem that goes well beyond the manager, but that he should deal with.
The basics are obvious on the pitch – poor passing, lump it forward, route one and no plan B.
But it goes much deeper. Look at the timing of goals we concede, 18 points dropped from goals at the start and end of each half = poor concentration / organisation. How many goals conceded by unmarked players = poor tactics / preparation. Most bookings in the league = lack of discipline and complete naivity. Poor use of substitutions = inept management and coaching unable to work out how to break down opposition and change a game.
The players are good enough – they have beaten Chelsea, Man City Arsenal, should have won at Anfield, but they are not able to raise their game when it matters.
Look at a break down of our points gained. 10 points v the top 5, 18 v the bottom 5, and just 6 v the middle 9 teams.
What this says to me is that the players are motivated / fired up for the big teams and the battles at the bottom (eg Lambert gets them up to beat Norwich and local rivals WBA) but they can’t motivate or coach the players to take on games where there appears to be less at stake.
We can call for Lambert to go – but in reality the whole coaching needs overhauling, and PL doesn’t have the vision to do it.

Had enough of being let down by the club, the owner, the manager and the players. Get a grip, at least show you give a monkeys and show some passion when your interviewed, so drab like the tactics, like the quality. Villa fans have been worn down, can’t take anymore. All they need to do is show passion, fight. They have given up already, body language says it all. Ahhhhhhh

Just a thought but when is lambert actually contracted until? Is it just the end of the season? God, I hope so then we wont have to pay that muppet any compensation for making a mess of the club.

I’ve just heard lamberk’s interview. If that’s what he’s like in the dressing room before the team go onto the pitch it’s no wonder we get pumped every week. Deluded. I don’t know what to say anymore.

““They’re the ones that have got to go and play. We need the crowd right behind us next Saturday. I’ve always got the belief in us to go and win games. I never have that doubt.”

But don’t worry, he believes the team can win games. He doesn’t doubt that. It’s funny though he continues to claim the crowd needs to be behind the team when it typically always is.

Its funny when results are crap he always wants “the crowd with us”. But as a club, when we want more, they give us absolutley nothing back.
It’ll be like a ticking bomb next week and the place will erupt as soon as we go 1 down.
Its not going to be pleasent.
          Lamberk OUT!

sure lambert OUT lets bring in rodgors or martinez ?? or McClaren wolly without the brolly, wonder if fergi would return, i mean its a top job innit???? can’t offer premier wages, fans demand top 7 at minimum, job is a poison chalice, no ppl if you wanna change things, its got 2b at the top, lerner needs 2 GO, or come out and explain wot EXACTLY his visions are. only then will we stop the decay running through club we care so much about

Martinez could have had the job twice and didn’t want it. Instead he went to Everton who have no money, sell their best players, and have an owner who is desperate to sell. What did he hear at Villa that told him it was the wrong job? He looks like he made the right choice.

Defeat at Palace looked a formality. Our form must be the worst in the league over the last few games. Relegation looks more likely by the game. I think we deserve it too.

    Just depressing.

thats the point i was making with my sledge hammer lol any manager with a hint of ambition, will look past villa, dave whelen called us a small club, but martinez did listen 2 villa’s offer and like dsvilla says was he told 2 do wot lambert has done in his first 2 years, to strip the squad of all high earners regardless of skill and importance to the squad. and bring in future prospects.

wot lambert has done is a minor miracle. for one villa av stripped the sqaud of anything premier league standards and kept um up. but this time it could well av been one player 2 much.

unless lerner offers more i mean gives the manager sumat 2 work with, handing back his p45 and employing another manager simply isn’t enough.at least villa is a blank canvas now squad void of big earners and quality. sumat clubs do after relegation we done before. maybe he was preparing for this.

i think off the last games we lower our ambitions and pray for a point i believe thats enough this year, a point and norwich will need 2 victorys from 4 impossible games

I think we will go down. Who are we going to beat out of the next 5 games – Southampton, Swansea, Hull, Man City and Tottenham? Probably anything about 36 points will see you safe this season, so we need another win from somewhere!

Palace have a poor squad, but a good manager in Pulis. He gets his teams organised and they grind out results. He’s getting the best out of his players.
