Oh boy, things aren’t looking for good Villa are they? Losing the last three games in a row, Villa are going to play against a very strong Crystal Palace side. Under Tony Pulis is looks as though Palace will remain in the Premier League next season. Palace have won their last two games, including a very impressive win against Chelsea and Cardiff. Pulis has managed to get his team to play well and most importantly they are very difficult to beat. Aston Villa? Well, they are definitely the most inconsistent side in the Premier League and as a result, it’s difficult to predict how they’ll play.
In the previous fixture, Crystal Palace won 1-0 through a beautiful goal by Gayle. Barry Bannan may face against his former team, he transferred to Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window of 2013 for a fee of 1.3 million. He made 61 appearances for club scoring 1 goal.
Team News:
Crystal Palace have almost a fully fit squad to choose from. Dwight Gayle returned from injury to score 5 goals in Palace’s reserve fixture against Brentford. But it maybe a weekend to early for Gayle to feature.
Aston Villa welcome back trio, El Ahmadi, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Fabian Delph from injury. The trio missed the defeat to Fulham last weekend but all three have been training. However 6 players are sustaining long term injuries: Helenius, Benteke, Kozak, N’Zogbia, Okore and Gardner.
Match Facts:
Aston Villa have only won one of their last eight Barclays Premier League meetings with the Eagles, drawing four and losing three.
Palace have won an average of 1.35 points per game in the 20 Premier League games under Tony Pulis, compared to 0.58 in the previous 12 PL matches.
Mile Jedinak is the only player to have reached triple figures in terms of tackles (105) and interceptions (112) in the Premier League this season.
Aston Villa have scored just six goals in the six Premier League games that Christian Benteke has played no part in this season.
Crystal Palace are attempting to win three successive Premier League matches for the first time since November 1994 (four games).
Aston Villa have lost three successive games in the Premier League and could equal their worst run of defeats in the competition under Paul Lambert (four games in Dec 2013).

Match Prediction:
Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa
Like I mentioned earlier, it’s so difficult to predict Aston Villa this season. They could win any game, and lose any game. But today I reckon that Lambert will be able to snatch a draw against Palace. Not the most ideal result, but at least we’ll get a few points on the board.
I’m going 3-1 Palace, I have lost all hope this season. Not looking forward to the journey back.
i thin its got draw all over it, both managers will probably think 35 points is enough.. we will sit back as usual but I think they will also, perhaps trying to win the game from a set piece
I’ve no excitement of the game, they have knocked the stuffing out of my enthusiasm for us, it will only come back when they fuck off the owner, management, and coaching staff.I fear the worst today,
We’ll lose and tbh as long as the other results go for us that is the best outcome. No more flukey results to mask how shit Lamberk is.
I’m going 2-0 palace, there getting better were getting worse. :@
Let’s get one thing absolutely clear: Crystal Palace are not a ‘very strong side’. They are an average at best, also ran who will fight for their place in the PL every year. The fact that none of us give villa a prayer is further evidence of how low we have sunk under Lerner and Lamberk. I’m not, along with most villa fans, expecting to break the sky 4 monopoly but I do expect a team that would make me confident of going to dross like palace and get a result. How many of our players who will start today would get into the palace team?
I’m not yet at the stage that I hope we lose to bring an end to lamberks reign but I can’t see us getting diddly squat out of today. UTV
Lambert out !
We will loose again today he’s lost the dressing room because he’s an idiot , sack him now ! He will take us down sooner or later ! Lambert out !!!!!
I hear a Villa fan is bringing a 20 foot banner to the game today saying ‘wheres the ambition gone’. Fair play to him, hope it’s the first of many showings of our frustrations at this once great club.
Can’t fucking wait to see the lads bottle it again today, UTV
2-1 Palace, dodgy winner in the last 10 minutes me thinks.
Lambert out!
is there no record lambert hasnt broke or equalled
Villa starting with 5 at the back playing Palace. Says alot about where we are as a club now a days.
Crystal Palace: Speroni, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Bolasie, Puncheon, Ledley, Jerome
Aston Villa: Guzan, Baker, Vlaar, Clark, Lowton, Bertrand, El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph, Agbonlahor, Holt
Can’t see us getting much from this game 🙁
villa better lose or risk disappointing all u fools
palace arent a great side lmao, ask chelsea who are fighting 2 win a league title, whinge alot mourinho who explained palace deserved their recent win over chelsea.
palace will see this game as 3 points they need 2 secure their premier lives, palace are a difficult side 2 play. they defend in numbers breaking quickly and directly hence the 5 defenders, but lowton and bertrand will push up field when in possession to give the width needed 2 supply holt.
games like these are important it will be a cup final, getting sumat out of it is a must
1,1 draw
agree we shud get a draw at least. both teams will play for draw imo
8 mins gone and I’m already bored.
We hold the ball, pass it around the back and everytime we look for a longer range ball, we just give it away. We don’t make any headway whatsoever.
I hope it gets better, as this is pure crap.
got 0.0 all over it . both sides playing for it as point gives both safety
Playing for a draw?? Stop talking nonsense….Both going for it, just both shit
Why are we playing 5 at the back then?
Fair play to the fans singing claret blue army for last 10 mins constant
They would be better served chanting for the “manager’s” head.
WBA and fulham winning, we need at least a point from palace or we will be deeper in the brown stuff
we will easily get a point it will be 0.0
You were saying Oohah…..
What now Nath? 1-0 CPalace-
For fucks sake, bring back McLeish, felt Villa were more comfortable under him than Lambert.
cant believe it. the results of teams below all against us 2
Fulham winning keeps Norwich down at least. Sunderland are also losing. But Palace, Cardiff and West Bromich all gaining 3 points would be terrible if we get 0.
It’s embarassing how toothless we are ffs
Here we go again another double by a struggling team,Lambert villa legend.fuck off
It’s a joke Giddy and after all the other results today, we’re not looking so safe now!!
Were in the shit now plain & simple. 🙁
