Ian i feel the exact same as much as in pleased to see reinforcements left back in particular i hate loan deals. Chelsea will simply take back their player if he does well and if he doesn’t perform then he was of the wage bill for 6 months. Remeber Kyle walker and how we pretty much sent back the complete package right back and left us looking for ra replacement again. I would rather see this transition come into effect now and start buying players slowly that we know are 1st teamers. This is not how a transition works in my opinions its simply fire fighting.

IIRC Walker played well for us and it’s unlikely we would have taken him on loan had we not needed to.

No its not a sign Lambert has a short term future! Its a sign that yes we are that shit! For me its a good signing finally because our left side is shit and he can play as a LB or LW and is better than anybody we have in those positions, and if he does well maybe we will buy him hopefully. But come on randy and Lambert get a fuckin midfielder in with a hint of creativity please please please a number 10 is the player we have most needed for years but still fail to get one! And we should buy them not just a quick fix loan! I agree with u about loans i just don’t like them but with the way the team is playing now im happy with any quality comin into the team in any way possible.

Personally I couldn’t give a shit about Loans, if they help keep us in the prem this year as we are not safe no matter what some people think then that’s all I care about. Then in the summer I hope to god we finally see the back of Hutton, Given, Bent, nzogbia? and Fonz so we can have a go at signing some actual quality players on higher wages.

Ian…I am, generally speaking with you on loans. I would like to see them abolished full stop! But given that it appears that Randy is not providing Lambert with funds if it helps us for a few months so be it. Not to take loans would also put us at a disadvantage because other clubs will be doing it. Moreover, some of those clubs will be, like us, be embroiled in a fight for PL survival. Its imperative that we stay up as I am not convinced that we would find it easy to get back up. So, in, short, I believe that the loan signings are in Villa’s short time best interests and thats what matters to me!….long term, well thats another debate!

Ian Lambert,s future at VP should be very short indeed the shorter the better IMO and i do agree with you on loans they are just a quick fix to try and save his job.Not going to take the club forward or secure it;s future.

Unfortunately Terry Lerner is right behind Lambert so if I were you I would forget about Lambert going as it is not going to happen UTV

Loans are a quick fix but this is a very good loan and who knows this may free up all funds to buy a quality mid this window? Probably shows more about lerners intent than lamberts at this stage though

Loans would be ok if they had a right to buy clause, a sort of try before you buy.

If the loans do us some good for the rest of the season then some good will have come out of them.As for loans as it goes I stay on the fence & I wait to see how they go ala Robbie Keane remember him?Bertrand is a good young player I think he will do a good job.As for Holt he will be a CF behind Benteke if he does a good job for Villa then loan or not it can only be good but they both have to do a gd job first.Rumours on a permenantly signing is floating about true or no I don’t know…….UTV

Your dreaming lads,Lambert is in panic mode, the reason he had Holt because he’s worked with him before, Lambert lost the dressing room and thinks he will help to stabilize the team, my take on loans, no you build a team and make it work, sorry he’s not able to do both. He should reverse his method and pay for talented players.

I am not a massive fan of taking on someone elses young players and making them better, Kyle Walker springs to mind.

However if it is a stop gap for an experienced player that is not getting picked or will not and the team are unsure if they want to commit then i see this as a good idea.

i also think loaning in a young player like Bertrand to potentially sign him up is good.

I am pleased with the signing of bertrand but at the same time i agree with the argument you present about loans

I have no problem with this. Bennett hasn’t worked out and has been off injured for some time, with Baker filling in. We can’t afford to lose any of our central defenders, so we need backup at LB. Luna hasn’t worked out, and is strangely not in any way match fit. As for Holt, he’s temporary cover for Kozak. If Luna had worked out and Bennett was his cover then we wouldn’t be taking in a loan player for that position. Likewise if Kozak was fit and healthy we wouldn’t have brought in Holt. Except not even I believe that’s the whole story on Holt. Lambert is reverting to what worked with him at Norwich and Hoolahan and Holt are the two players he thinks can do the job.

Let’s get to the summer and see what happens. These two loanees will help us get there, hopefully.

I still want to see Helenius play before Holt gets to touch the ball though. I have nothing against Holt, at least while he hasn’t given us reason…

I agree with Adams point earlier. I don’t understand the huge drama. It’s a solution to a problem in the short term, loans on the whole make sense. Holt and Bertrand would cost us double than what they are worth just because it’s January. I couldn’t give a fuck if we loaned in an entire first team if it meant we stayed in the Premier league.

Take a step back and get some perspective here. We have problems all over the field at the moment and I’d rather Holt and Bertrand who have been around then putting faith in another permanent Lambert signing. It’s part of football and won’t go away.

The only thing I don’t like about loans is the fact we’re (in the case of bertrand) giving the the lad and ultimately Chelsea experience. There should be stricter conditions in the contract with regards to keeping the player on permanent should he do well, no matter how difficult that might be.

u guys lose me, u really do ~ point we all agree we need players this window, as summer signings are not exactly setting high standards~ for one reason or another

left back has been the focus of every-teams tactics this season and last. so that was a must position 2 strengthen. holt may not be the player mot wanted, but he’s a damn good player, whether u like it or not he’s miles better than helenius, rite now maybe not nxt year but we are needing some1 now

so choice loans or no new faces 2 freshen up and face a tough run in ~ loans help club and players ~ we never usually use this avenue effectively but iam happy both LOANS will help villa survive and being premier nxt year helps attract better players whether its this manager or another

another loan in midfield will do ~

He’s stronger than Helenius but not technically. Plus Helenius can stay on his feet for more than 2 mins.

holt has more about him now thats all ~ helenius needs time and we need results ~ unfair 2 judge any of the new recruits until nxt season , i think a short term loan would help most of the summer ones except bacuna

How can you possibly know Helenius is so technically gifted? Please give examples of times he has displayed this against quality opposition.

??? Jaymo83 are you saying that you cannot display technique against poor opposition? or until you play premiership club you cannot be classed as technical player..?

          I don’t follow that logic..

in the mean time check youtube for his goals and games in the danish league..

techinical players are technical players where ever and against whoever they play
