What you up to Oohah ,hiding your comments midway into the discussion, follow the leader, can you now stop knocking my club, your becoming a pain in the back side, please don’t come and say I can do one, as a lot of us are fed up with your constant slate of a football club,we have had years of tormented so called mangers, I’m asking you to give the owner and manager that chance to put our club right. To me its just rediculas at this time of the season to knock anyone trying to change the system of running Villa.

Been away for a while, but I see that little has changed.

Lerner is a tosser for letting Benteke go for an as yet undisclosed fee with unknown add-ons when we thought it was £25m.

Oohah, what have Spurs agreed to pay and what have we accepted ? I haven’t got a clue, and I think there’s a chance he won’t even leave personally. I’d be interested to know.

They havnt offered anything yet but strong rumours they will offer us 20m with add ons. In other words they can’t afford him and Lerner is helping them by accepting payment in instalments if true of course

        If true, of course.

I think that Lerner will hold out on this one. We would damage our reputation as a club if we ditch ambitious/mercenary youngsters into the stiffs because they want to move, regardless of the rights and wrongs of their behaviour.

We just have to live with the fact that it’s the way of life, it’s not a Villa thing.

Shame to hear that most of your mates have knocked STs of 25 years plus on the head. None of ours have baled, do they really think it’ll be worse than last season ?

Well they seem to think so. One or two are wavering slightly and seeing how it pans out in the next month or so. I think they are disillusioned with football Per se and even more worrying is their kids arnt really bothered about going either they would rather do something else. One of my friends has even given up her st in the trinity which has been in her family for generations so must be bad though even she’s had enough and her family are about as loyal as they come.

To be honest, it’s not worth worry about what Spurs are doing or might do. It’s been a month of articles talking about Spurs ‘considering’ to make an offer for Benteke. Although, from what I’ve seen all these articles are just the same and nothing has changed – Benteke is still at Villa. Until I see some official facts a bid has been accepted, it’s all fluff.

Although, the bigger news concerning Benteke isn’t so much his so-called transfer, but what will happen in two days when he returns for training. Will he return? Or will his f**ked up logic see him lose not only respect and a new deal, but all his wages for not showing up.

Remains to be seen. On another note utd have said they are not scared of letting rooneys contract run down if he dosnt play ball. Wish Lerner would take note that’s how to do it.

Of villa wanted to we could break benteke and his agent by letting his 3 yr deal run down on 20k per week. Cb needs to be careful or he could be left in limbo. My mate who’s a spurs fan wants cb but him and a few of his spurs mate are concerned about the way he has gone about this and that he supports arsenal and might go there next yr if they want him. I think if cb dosnt hit the ground running at spuds the crowd could start getting in his back especially at 25m whereas he didn’t have that pressure with us at 7m

Regardless of what will happen to Benteke, he’s completely backed himself into a corner with all thats gone on.

He has shown everybody what he is all about, good mate of mine, a gooner, is well against having him at the arse after the way he has treated us and he says almost 100% of arsenal fans around the blogs feel the same way about this mercenary. Tottenham will be taking a huge risk buying him at 25 mil only for him to piss off in a year or 2 and possibly be worth less.

If he stays with us he’ll be extremely unpopular with everyone at Villa. This scenario could just as likely happen.

Was a big mistake on his and his agents part putting in a transfer request with no official bids in.

Think your right though like everything fans are fickle and if benteke stays and scores a hatrick v arsenal and we win 3.0 then all will be forgotten. Look at Barry when he stayed we got right behind him after he started to produce on the pitch. I think benteke is a good player though and would hate to see him leave even for £30m. Funnily enough my mate who’s a spuds fan really wants him but my mate who supports arse dosnt he dosnt think benteke would fit in with their system and that as teams defend more against arsenal then he will get more attention and will find it harder. Prob why he’s not gone to Chelsea yet.

Personally, I feel that the sale of Benteke will have more to do with Lambert than Lerner. Regardless of what the club sells Benteke for both the club and Lerner stand to make a huge profit on their investment. Now, if Lerner – Faulkner go behind Lambert’s back or agree to sell at a fee without Lambert’s backing… well then Lerner might not only be looking to a new striker, but also a manager. Nevertheless, I can’t see this happening.

Overall, from what I can figure out, the main point of discussion is what everyone considers Benteke is worth. Rival clubs will say 20m, the press say 25m, and Villa fans will say 30m+. No one really knows but I can say Lambert has shown to be a man of his word. I say this because, even before the transfer request fiasco came to be I remember reading articles quoting Lambert saying, “interested teams will have to break the bank to purchase Benteke.” I think it even went on to state even 25m ‘will not even get you to the negotiating table.’ Now, there is an argument that Benteke’s transfer request changed all that, but for me, I really can’t see Lambert changing his stance on the issue. If he says 25m is too low, 25m is too low.

There is no proof this is the case and there is no proof that ANY offer has even been discussed! Ooh ah mate you are the joke because you believe pure media speculation bullshit is fact and you are a disgrace because you constantly slag the club off at every opportunity, Fuck it even if there is no opportunity you still find a way to drag the club down! And your brilliant comeback as always will be that im happy wit relagation battles and mercenary players but im not happy at all! I just have enough brains to realise we need to go through this shit, rebuild the club and then we can move forward, last year was the 1st step but you expect us to be sprinting with chelsea and man u! And who do you blame for that, Lerner? I think not. The blame falls fairly and squarely at the feet of MON, he was given more than enough funds to make the top 4 but blew it and in the process wasted millions on dross and sent the club spiraling towards bankruptcy.
Told to be a little more sensible with his transfer policy he threw his toys, rattles, dummies and every thing else out the pram and left at such a time as to inflict maximum damage, so if you want vent your anger I think it should be in that direction.

Don’t want Maloney, as he is a reasonable club player but nothing special enough to be that Magic Man behind our main striker.

For whatever we get for Benteke and Bent and the freed up wages from Hutton, Ireland and Given, I would buy 2 strikers, 2 attacking midfielders (one runner and one ball player) 1 defensive midfielder come centre back (hint Kouyate) and a young defender.

    Alfred Finnbogason
    Luc Castaignos
    Hiroshi Kiyotake
    Omar Abdul Rahman
    Sam Byram

And don’t forget the man who will give the team backbone Kouyate.

I say things that I believe are correct and again your confusing negativity with realism. In your world what Lerner and lambert are doing is great in my world it isn’t that’s not to say that I will not get behind the club once the season starts. Yes there are positives in the club like Weimann, Guzan, Okore but the negatives of the past 3 years far outweigh the positives. I don’t slag you off for being positive we live in a democracy this site is NOT a dictatorship where everyone has to agree with me or Anon but likewise not everyone has to agree with you either. It seems to me that if people don’t view the club the way you want them to then you throw your toys out the pram. As far as me and Anon are concerned this site will air everyone’s views positive or negative that is something we will not be changing.

YES we know the issues out there but to bang on about it on every single post and topic gets to the point where people like GUESt want out.. because all we do is end up debating the same ground hog day point u keep on making..

Yesterday you said i thought Randy was the messiah.. simply die to me saying maybe benteke for 23M plus add ons might be cool as long as we get another striker and a creative midfielder.. it was a ridicuolus comment on ur part and i couldn’t be asked to write an essay about Lerner ( as i have done before ) with regards to his mismanagement under Oneil and the Mcliesh appointment.. simply because its been said before.. why must a person have to say it again and again..

Your the type of fella that if he found out his Mrs had cheated on him you would forgive her but then bang on about it every day till she said feck it i am off..

YES it is a debate site but when a topic is being spoken for exapmle how can the club re build IF you keep saying fcuk it we are a selling club randy is a tw@t blah blah then instead of a constructive debate we get into the same old and people are getting fecked off with it

The thing is, there is nothing wrong with negativity, but it needs to be balanced, the same goes for positivity, too much of either is an unbalanced view, OohAh you say your’e not being negative and that you are a realist, well a realist would know when to shut his mouth and stop dragging everybody down with him, because essentially, that is what you and TJ are doing.

Now, nobody is saying that you or TJ aren’t entitled to your opinions, but when you constantly slate something that we all adore, it is eventually going to get peoples backs up, we are all aware of the issues at VP and we are in it together, my grandad died of cancer, whilst he was suffering i didn’t bleat on all day, every day to my family until he passed, we were all aware of what was happening, we didn’t need harp on every day.

It’s a shame it’s getting to the point where people want to leave because of a couple of posters that only see the bad, there are some brilliant members on this site, BWS, Bill and Lionheart all have amazingly balanced views, they see the positive and the negative and it makes for good conversation and good banter, and that is what this site is supposed to be about surely?

I have to say, it’s a bit of a crossroads for me, i could build another blog for myself and invite people to it but then that goes against the freedom of speech and what a forum is supposed to be about but at the same time, i’m sick of the same arguments.
