Last night there were a range of different transfer speculation. The majority of these headlines were published by ‘Get football news France’. Whilst with tabloid we should be careful with rumours, this website actually reported all of Villa’s transfer news correctly over the summer, those involving French players anyway.
The first player linked is Wahbi Khazri who is a striker from Bordeaux. According to reports, Villa have now made contact with Bordeaux about possibly singing Khazri. Villa will include a relegation release clause to all new recruits in January in order to make the deal more attractive. Stoke and Newcastle are also interested in Khazri. Khazri is a left-midfielder who can also play in attack, so far this season he has scored 5 goals and 6 assists, making him one of the most inform players in League 1. It appears he plays a similar role as Sinclair does for Villa.
Next up is Steve Mandanda the Marseille goalkeeper. According to ‘Get football news France’, Villa have made a concrete £3 million offer for Mandana last night. The reason why Mandana would go for so cheap is because his contract expires in 6 months, with Aston Villa willing to include a relegation clause. It’s unsure whether or not Mandanda will take the move, it’s believed he is considering it. With Marseille going to respect his decision and will accept the bid, should Mandana be keen on moving to England.
This seems like a less concrete story, but Monaco defensive midfielder Jeremy Toulalan. Apparently he is high on Garde’s wish list and the club is considering making a move for Toulalan. It’s believed that Monaco would accept a bid of roughly £5 million and let Toulalan leave but Atletico Madrid are also interested. For some, this would be the best player for Villa, since we need a defensive midfielder since Sanchez, Westwood and Gana have all been alright. Toulalan is very experienced and was one of the best defensive midfielders a few years back.
The last transfer story involved a Villa contact over free agent Morgan Amalfitano. Amalfitano has been a free agent since his fall out at West Ham. Lyon are also said to be interested but Get football news France is not sure whether or not he has yet accepted Villa’s contract offer. Amalfitano has played previously for West Brom and West Ham, playing a combined 60 games scoring 7 goals.
Yum yum. More Primark Players. Same shit. Different day.
Sorry to be negative, but it’s the reality. Merry Christmas Randy. Maybe we should arrange a massive ‘going down’ party????
Where as they seem like players that garde knows more than anything, don’t known how Anyone can throw the primark label about after watching a combined spend of appx 3m put Leicester top this year – mahrez, Vardy
Maybe a club like Leicester can pull it off. Somehow at Villa we always fail miserably. Imagine M&S running an advertising campaign like Iceland, featuring Peter Andre…think it would work? This is Lerner’s wet dream.
No comments today on Remi saying Gabby is up for sale. Thanks for the effort Gab, but it’s in everyone’s best interests to move on.
Talked to a senior member of the Villa hierarchy yesterday. I asked him what was wrong with our fantastic club. He told me the whole club is rotten. From top to bottom…
More frenchies
Keeper sounds OK for a position we need filling asap guzan has cost us between 6 and 10 points already ,don t know what they do in training but we are conceding one a game from set pieces why no men on posts would have stopped Newcastle soton goals last 2 away matches plus his kicking puts us under pressure every time he can hardly clear halfway line
I agree with most of the above. There is only one good team in France, and oddly enough none of our proposed recruits plays for PSG. However I am pleased to see René no longer thinks we can survive with Guzan.
I would have been happier to see the next two players on the list were Centre backs, and preferably Scandinavian. IMO the midfield and attack we have isn’t as far off the Prem pace as the CBs and GK. I would agree it is lop-sided, and that means we do not need an attacking left sided MF – we have several. We need a right sided winger or MF.
Agreed, at last it seems that the current occupant of the nr1 GK spot is recognised as a liability, and his backup isn’t a premiership player either.
Multiple good teams in France. Lille, Lille, Monaco, Angers, Caen, Nice, Saint Etienne.
There’s only one world class side and that’s PSG.
French reports claim we’ve made contact with Chelsea for Remy, along with Lille, Saint Etienne, Southampton, Swansea and Palace. The two French sides can’t afford his wages even on a loan deal. So they’re out.
Loic Remy would be amazing if we could pull it off but somehow even with a relegation clause I don’t see it happening. One of those transfers that is there to cheer people up when in reality we will get another sylla from the French 2nd tier. 10 wins!!! Absolutely no fucking chance.
Think it would be more likely that we get him on loan than buy him outright.
Rather play Hepburn-Murphy and accept the inevitable.
Sounds boring, rather get quality in and go for it.
On loan? No thanks
If the best player we can get is Naismith what’s the point? He won’t keep us up so we may as well play our youngsters who are actually doing quite well at the moment so they can be ready for the championship next year.
Naismith is currently the worst player we’re linked too, so it’s okay, he isn’t the best we’re after out of every link.
On a different subject, may I just praise the radio station Talksport, sometimes called Talkshite by some on here. Well last Sunday from 10pm till midnight, Danny Kelly interviewed my Villa hero Brian Little for 2 hours, yes 2 hours!!, on a show called ‘My sporting life’. What a great interviewer Kelly is, and what a great bloke Brian is, hope some of you on here got to hear it, it was a great listen.
AGGGGH Dave C missed it, always on the lookout to see what my hero is up to as well.Brian Little was brilliant.Asking all bloggers to look at England VWales on you tube 1975 Brian comes on as sub and has a stormer .
Brian mentioned that on the show Little8, he said that Don Revie came up to him and told him he was really sparkling in the England training session so he knew he had a good chance of taking some part in the game v Wales. Not long after he had a serious injury that kept him out for almost a season, by then Trevor Francis and Tony Woodcock had replaced him in the England squad and he was never picked again.
Well both , Brian is a gentleman first class, and wasn’t French, I don’t like this turning your back on English footballers thinking the green is greener, just remember if they agree to be here its for the money, not the shirt. Ok we all like our club to be the best, but do it want to know they did it thinking British is not good enough? Born British Die British that’s me. Now who have I upset?
Pretty happy with some of the players we are being linked with. We have to be realistic with who would sign for us in our current situation, and we also need players that can drag us out of this mess.
Inler would be good as a replacement for Sanchez. Better distributor of the ball. Naismith and Remy are proven goalscorers in the PL, so would be happy with either. Sam Byram too would be a good signing, and would stay if we went down.
I’m skeptical of more players from the french league though, we dont have time for players to settle in.
Inler’s nowhere near as good as Sanchez, he’s living off his Udinese hype, since he left them, he’s gone downhill and the few times he’s played for Leicester, he’s been absolute garbage.
Naismith isn’t a proven Goal Scorer. He’d get as many as Gabby does.
You’re having a laugh. Since Sanchez has been at Villa the only decent game he has had is the one where he marked Neymar out of the game playing for Colombia. Based on that one game you think he is the best player we have but like most of the squad he hasn’t performed for us because he isn’t good enough. His distribution is poor, his touch is poor, his positioning is poor and quite simply he isn’t good enough for the Prem.
Er ….. That’s non then! Actually I think Naismith will contribute a lot more generally than Gabby ever does.
I know he’s mainly used as a sub at Everton, but he gets like… 4 a season at most. He’s not proven, mainly because he’s not a striker. But he’d contribute more.
Can’t see him coming anyway, yesterday the scouse echoe reportedly said he wants to fight for his position not sure if that meant physically.but looks like a non starter imo.
They said that when he rejected Norwich over the summer. Martinez said he’s not getting into the team.
Maybe he’s totally deluded then, why hang around at a club your not wanted??must be on good money?
Hi Giddy – now where have I heard that before? 🙂
Hi hitch hope your on the lash MATE love this time of year I can blend in with the other piss heads.
Calm before the storm mate – just recovering from a Caribbean rum fest before launching into the festive season……..
I’m already beat you Hitch, mojo me and grandson, Ho Ho Ho , Hitch did you look to see if there’s anymore Dwight York’s out there. ?
Hi Bill – desperately tried to think of a clever answer but failed! As far as I could tell they were all in the rum shop with me anyway 🙂
I think we will be looking to loan the likes of Inler and Remy anyway. Naismith would contribute a lot more than Gabby does, he has 4 goals this season already…and hasn’t started any games for a while.
Dont get me wrong, these aren’t ideal signings at all, but we are massively limited by our current predicament!
Sampdoria are in talks to sign Inler, thankfully.
Half the stories in the press are just that and the other half are just wrong! 🙂 🙂
If anyone out there thinks that Inler is a better option than Sanchez is sadly deluded, Inler way past his best and it appears that Ranieri thinks so too.
What percentage is getting the best out of the existing players and what the ability of the players.
Leicester,Watford and Bournemouth (maybe Norwich also ) have loads of unknown players that no one had thought of as “class” and now everyone bows down to them due to their success this season…..A high percentage for the change in admiration has got to be down to them playing in a stable system week in week out.
I wonder if most of them will last the course though…remember Michu at the Swans….
In a game that is really a simple one why do we always make it difficult.
Correct VillaawayinDiv3, its like working at Roll Royce and having a job at a bike factory, willing and wanting its not in the team, over the last decades it’s as if its just a job and nothing more, if we get out of this its another gong in the cabinet, I’m praying hard I really am.
An account has been set up on twitter by a Villa fan its called The Lerner Years, surprised it has taken this long for people to start having a go at out parasitical owner
It should of been on TWATTER.
