Aston Villa have revealed that the Aston Villa tunnel will be revamped, with Paul Lambert recently discussing his input into the latest design. The tunnel has been given a glamours facelift that will motivate his young squad ahead of games at Villa Park. Three banners have been added that include some of Aston Villa’s greatest historic achievements. These include the European Cup victory in 1983 and all the years in which Villa have League Champions. All players will be greeted with the sign ‘This is Villa Park’. Villa’s symbolic “Lions” stand besides the two doors.
“The tunnel area is a big area,” said the manager.
“It has been done up now and it is fantastic. You see some of the history that there is at this club, what’s happened in the past. You can’t take that away from a club.”
Chief Executive Paul Faulkner added: “Paul Lambert is a man of high football standards.
“During the summer, he identified the tunnel as an area in need of enhancement. He wants it to be something special.
We’re confident it will really be a striking addition to the matchday experience for players and staff alike.”
The tunnel looks fantastic, I love the fact it’s got some symbolism behind it. Let’s hope it becomes one of the most memorable tunnels in the Premier League, similar to Anfields tunnel.

I have to say its long over due but great to see, Aston Villa have a great history and should be seen to all and sundry, would think this has something to do with lack of tournament’s Villa are not getting. we are central to the country and our infrastructure to and from the ground is second to none. Looks good, 🙂
I think this is a great idea, it looks really good and Paul Lambert deserves credit he really seems to care about this club and is trying to build something, everybody might not agree with his transfer policy but they cannot deny his commitment and determination to bring the club forward, and i do believe we are moving forward. A little known fact is that the VP tunnel is apparently the biggest in Britain, Wembley apart.
Really not sure how I know that (but I am a sponge for that type of fact) and it’s not really that important, but it’s just another one of those little things that makes me feel proud about the club.

………how about finishing it off with full ceiling to floor pictures of players lifting the European Cup in Rotterdam on one of those white walls leading out to the tunnel and on the other all the players on the balcony back in Brum at the Council House lifting the Cup with tens of thousands of Villa fans in the background across Victoria Square.
Then I will call it impressive!!
How about finishing it off by having a decent team coming out the tunnel that is capable of winning things. And I don’t mean the opposition.
I know if only we could beat the strongest team in the league, Man City, after walking out of that tunnel. Now that would be amazing…………
