Sherwood not secure; and another surprise, poo stinks!

The ibtimes are suggesting that if a new owner takes over at the Villa, Tim Sherwood’s position as manager might not be safe.
The article even goes on to suggest that our CEO, Tom Fox’s position might be a bit dodgy too.

So how is this even a story?
A new owner comes in, he has his own ideas and isn’t obliged to keep on any of the original staff, is he?

It’s why I regard the press with such disdain, as my opinion says they just don’t have a clue and it’s all made up, with nothing to back it up, apart from Fox stating the blindingly obvious in this case.

In further news, it’s been reported that Tom Fox has said that Christian Benteke will be offered an improved contract.
How does he know this, if he’s about to be thrown out on his ear?
Unless he’s party to the talks that are discussing his dismissal, of course.
Either that or Fox does know something, which suggests he’ll be staying on and knows it.

Whatever, any talk about the supposed takeover is just that, talk, as, as has been correctly suggested, there will be non disclosure agreements agreed, hence the media won’t have a clue about what’s happening until the deal is done and announced.

In the same vein, you can write off any speculation about who we might be bringing in, I reckon.
How can anyone speculate when we don’t even know if there’s a sale, let alone any of the current hierarchy staying on?

That said, we do appreciate some of you love the speculation and if anything appears newsworthy, no doubt it’ll be commented on by one of us.

Which reminds me.
I did hear from a source, that Milner is on the verge of rescinding his Liverpool contract and signing for the Villa, as he’s sick of the scouse fans already complaining about how poor he is.

Remember, you heard it here first 😉

I’m sure I predicted we’d offer Benteke a new contract and he’d sign it and stay a few posts ago – it would appear that I’m close to being 50% right so far.

I want these to be exciting times, but at the moment I’m just finding them interesting.

Just so people know as well, Guzan was very good against Germany yesterday.

I see Benteke is even money fav to stay at Villa with sky bet. Great win for the USA I believe Guzan made a couple of good saves.

New owner(s) will be American and it will be a cash sale, Randy did not want Adams and co as it would have put the club into more debt…. I heard this from an ex-player !
expect some news within a month as the new owners and Randy want to be prepared for the new season !!

Spanish clubs rumoured to be in for Gil as TS considers him too lightweight. Don’t get this as Grealish gets knocked off the ball easily and can’t tackle but he’s added another attacking threat & dimension to the team.

Ridiculous Sherwood needs shooting. He can easily bulk up a bit and look how lightweight arsenals players are they do ok

Apparently there’s a bit of a gamble going on with a rumour linking us with Micah Richards. Skybet had us at 10/1 to sign him but after a flurry of bets he is now odds on at 1/2 to join us!!

Think this would be a decent signing.

Now that is a player I can get excited about. Always rated him since he scored against us in cup years ago. Strong, quick versatile. The only downside is his injury record if he stays fit he could be one of the best signings we’ve ever made.

Mirror claims Richards agreed £65,000 a week from Villa over £90,000 a week at Sunderland and that Sherwood is the reason he’s convinced him to join.

A fit, motivated Richards with a point to prove = excellent business on a free. (wages sound hefty – perhaps there’s money to play with?)

I thought the same about the wages too but when you consider that no transfer fee was involved it’s not a bad deal imo. I’m happy with the signing and like you already said, if he keeps fit we could have a decent player on our hands.

Despite the lack of transfer fee the wages still feel surprisingly high – hopefully a sign of things to come. Not astronomical but certainly not out of the bargain basement. Good signing in my opinion.

That’s my only concern is his injury record. But I really rate this guy if we can get him playing the first 12 games without injury he could easily be our player if the season. He’s got the lot pace power strength good engine etc. And he’s from Bham lol

Players of Richards ability would not be coming to Villa if they were not aware of something good about to happen.
If the stories are true about Sunderland offering 90K a week then if it was for the money he would have gone there.
Remember, if it wasn’t for the Arabs – Villa are a bigger club than Man City.

OMG- I agree with Oohah, what is the world coming to? Wikipedia has Micah Richards as a Villa player. Welcome Micah, you have just raised the quality of our team.

Well done TS and keep this up. Another 8 quality signings and Oohah may look forward to a great season.

Does this mean the takeover is very close?

First signing IV been positive over for a long time IV wanted him at VP for ages. As long as he stays fit for most of the season I will stick my neck out and say he could be up there with the Lord himself as a Villa Legend 🙂

Sherwood stating he ‘wants’ 3 – 4 more signings to go right into the first team. Personally that doesn’t sound like a lot of coverage given all of this talk of players getting shifted out of the club.

You are probably right about that. I do find it funny that the B.Mail’s has a poll on Gil and as of right now 92% of supporters say the club should hold on to him – that is pretty high.

Sherwood does. I personally would make Clark captain, not bringing in Shawcross to do it. I wouldn’t even start Shawcross over Clark and Richards.
