Spurs 3- 0 Villa; Just shocking!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
…to the Exit? You’d hope so.

I feel ashamed today.

This was a game where you would have hoped we would have been able to play with the shackles off, wasn’t it?
So what happened?
We started out with pretty much the same line-up that has failed us all season, that’s what.
And as expected, they failed us again.

So what to say about the actual game?
We looked devoid of any heart or desire.
It was shots-in early on in the game and when they got their first, you just knew what was going to come.
While I don’t think we sat back too much (certainly not as much as against Man City), was that supposedly us going for it?
You would hope not, given that our midfield were totally outclassed and created nothing yet again.
Delph looked about the only Villa player on the pitch that looked remotely interested and he at least had a couple of efforts.

At half time, Lambert replaced Jordan Bowery, a player where I just don’t see it at all, with El Ahmedi.
That said it all for me, in that it was now about damage limitation.
Is that what we’re really down to these days? It would certainly appear so.

Another damming statistic that we’re quite used to recently, is that we never had an attempt on target until yet another effort from Delph.

Anyway, enough talking about that rubbish. So why do I feel ashamed?
Because of the fans that actually travelled and paid to watch that tripe.
They were superb today and if the team were half as good as the support, in the effort put in, they’d be seriously challenging.

I looked at one of the White Hart lane stands and there I saw the words “the game is about the Glory”.
You could have fooled me.

And then I looked at the shirt sponsors.
Spurs have HP, a world-wide brand.
While we have????? exactly. That shows the gulf that exists between us nowadays.

It’s just not good enough and why we need change.
Please Randy, make the announcement that you’ve sold.
Because anything else won’t be good enough either.

I dont want to hear that Lambert has been sacked. That would worry me as it would indicate no takeover. If you were selling the club surely you would leave sacking to the new owners. I really hope the first announcement is that lerner has sold to someone with real ambition. If this happens then Lambert will be gone and rightly so. If the current powers that be sack Lambert we all know they will replace with similar. Maybe bring back McCleish ! The future of this once great club hangs in the balance right now.

Ellis sacked O’leary and appointed O’Neil just b4 lerner arrived. Why would a new owners want his first task to be to pay the old manager off.
IF A DEAL has been struck the managers posituon has pribably also been sorted. Whether its Lambert or not. I hope the latter.

Good point but I think Ellis’ actions where taken on instruction from Lerner. Maybe the possible new owners may request the same from Lerner though. nevertheless I would rather no the fate of the club and deal with lambert later on.

I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up but after this season anything thing less than Letner sells and Lembert sacked will not be enough. We should be looking at grand protests if anything less boycott mechendise and season tickets to start.

The sister blog to this “7500 to Holte” posted their take on the Spurs drubbing. I opened it to find the words DISABLED WALK-IN SHOWER. That turns out to be an advert, but I will leave it as a four word description of the Villa team today.

“Villa are still a Premier League club. It’s an incredible achievement to stay in the Premier League with everything that’s happened”. What a fine quote that is from Paul Lambert today

I’m am trying hard not to vent my spleen but I so f***off that our beloved chairman did not even see fit to attend the last game of the season maybe even his last game as chairman. This points not just to the fact he doesn’t care but a total disrespect of the club,it’s fans, the players and even the manager.

Lots in the press the last few days about the big clubs stockpiling the top players and how it needs to change.
Any chance of a rule to stop clubs stockpiling too many donkeys?

Embarassing again this afternoon – so glad its over. Yet another display of nil creativity, nil excitement, abject defending and tactically inept at best. Simply not good enough and next year there won’t be 3 worse teams to save us.

After this season’s shambles I’ve made a list of everything we need at the club:
    – A new chairman
    – A new CEO
    – A new manager
    – New coaches
    – New scouts
    – Whole new squad of players (bar 3 or 4)

    Anything else to add?

Good shout. We need to eradicate every memory of the woeful Lerner era. Get rid of the shit false slogans and change the badge back. I want to see the club completed ripped apart. From top down every element needs to be looked at because the current shambles cannot be repeated.

I’m lost for words except to say how incredible our away fans were today…they sang their hearts out for 90 mins. You would have thought that at least one (if not all) the players should have said ‘lets do it for the fans’. Show some heart, some guts, some bottle. We as players are privileged to wear the shirt of,historically,Englands finest club.
It was fucking disgraceful again…..thank you Villa, thats the fans, not the team, you did us proud again!
Fuck off Lerner NOW, just FUCK OFF, the Villa is OURS!

Doesn’t look like we will get our statement tonight fellas. This better be good Lerner because this just outrageous the way your loyal paying customers are not put out of their misery the minute the final whistle was blown.

Lescott and Richards both leaving city confirmed by their own twitter account s. Get one of them in . Wages shouldn’t be an issue with the new owners .

Richards is going to Liverpool but would love him at villa can play anywhere across the back four. Lescotts passed his best and has a regular mistake in him typical villa signing

Remember when O’Dreary was here …all we wanted was him out and followed by Ellis…..all this happened and we really did enjoy the heady highs in the top half of the table…wembley final and semi …..I think Ellis gave Learner a too rosy version of the Prem – but it has changed with major investment each year a norm so 10 -15 million is standing still or worse.
I simply cannot believe that this season there were 6 worse clubs than ours…how the hell did we manage to get that high up the table….I feel sorry for the lower ones as surely they must have seen some of our displays and wondered why they were below us.
I am going crazy waiting for some info about the future and as I can not influence the outcome I guess I will just have to get on with whatever is thrown out way.
We have to get real and if we had a season being around middle and jump to about 8th at the end it would be the highest we could EVER hope for until rules come in to limit the amount owners can put in to about the most our owner puts in …so we would be top dogs…..not going to happen so excitement will just have to be staying up every season with getting past the first rounds in the cups.

THANKS TO THE AWAY FANS FOR BRIGHTENING THE DAY….brilliant.

According to the Mail, the colourful singing of our away fans pinned Lambert to the dugout out of embarrassment. I liked the Jesus chant especially!

They’re listed on the Mail website. The main thing that makes me think Randy is off, is the way the Mail has changed it’s stance. They’d never criticise the club and owner so consistently and openly if he was staying otherwise they’d be banned from the press box.
