The end of another disappointing season is on the horizon. One more win for Aston Villa will most likely mean another season in the Premier League. Aston Villa improved with a 0-0 draw last weekend against Southampton, previously Aston Villa lost 4 on the trot.
Swansea also improved last weekend by beating Newcastle 2-1 at St James’s Park. That win also brings Swansea nearer to survival. Swansea have failed to achieve the success of last season with both Michael Laudrop and Gary Monk struggling to bring the best out of their Swansea side.
In the previous fixture Swansea managed to grab a 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Agbonlahor and Lamah both scoring on that day. Wayne Routledge may face his former side. Routledge joined Aston Villa 2008 from Tottenham for a fee of £1.5 million. He was sold to QPR in 2009 for a fee of £600,000. Overall Routledge made 2 appearances for Aston Villa.
Team News:
Michu will yet again miss out with an ankle injury, this ankle injury has been ongoing throughout the season for Michu. While Chico Flores is still suspended following his red card against Chelsea.
Aston Villa will be without Joe Bennett who picked up an ankle problem during training. Nicklas Helenius has recovered from a thigh injury and it’s unknown whether or not he will be in the match day squad.
Match Facts:
Wilfried Bony has now netted 13 Barclays Premier League goals this season, eight more than any other Swansea player.
Grant Holt has scored three goals in four Barclays Premier League games against Swansea; against no side has he scored more in the competition.
Aston Villa have conceded only 21 goals away from home this season, eight fewer than league leaders Liverpool (29) have.
Villa have gone three hours and 20 minutes without scoring a Premier League goal.
Aston Villa have won just one of the eight Premier League games that Christian Benteke has missed this season, netting only six goals in the process.
All three Villa trips to Wales in the Premier League have ended as draws; with two of those finishing 0-0.

Match Prediction:
Swansea 0-0 Aston Villa
I just don’t know where the goals are going to come from for Aston Villa. Albrighton and Bertrand proved last weekend that we have two players that are capable of producing fantastic crosses. But we had no one at the end of them. Obviously Holt would be favourite to win a few but I think if Lambert wanted a mixture of pace and strength clearly Helenius is your guy. He scored both pre-season goals with headers and I reckon he’d do a good job, especially with both Weimann and Agbonlahor on poor form. Swansea will play well, but I don’t think they are nearly as good as a side as they were last season, but if one team had to win, it will be Swansea because they have a goal scorer in Bony.
Hull could hav ejust saved our lives!! 2-2
Fulham 2-2 we cannot keep relying on other teams to save our bacon.
Hull could of just saved our lives!!! 2-2
saved again could see that coming
Should it really be like this??? Should it FUCK
Lambert needs to go NOW! He is trying his hardest to get us relegated…..
agree. 4.1 is a disgrace
cant wait get him out no fight effort baker westwood wieman take a holiday youse 3 are a disgrace
how many points last 20 odd matches lerner deserves to get relegated see how much he gets then
Was wiemann playing today? Saying that did any of them turn up??
Shambles! Particularly in second half. The midfield players and absolute liability trying or failing to defend in their own area. Baker – disgraceful.
Shocking result. Would like to think Hull have one eye on the cup final next match, but they’re scraping for their lives (unlike us).
yes i forgot hull were in final
we shouldnt have to rely on other teams. 35 points from 35 games is embarrasing. mclown was hounded out for much less
cant fault the effort personally i think villa played very well, individual errors including a dodgy offside first, guzan poor distribution, finally bakers stupid fouls at the death, on same player getting skinned out wide right took a yellow, but the foul in the box was idiotic
fulham fluffed their lines, baggies win 🙁 we need a draw still if my mathematics are correct against hull. if the managers and staff can pick up our players we should manage a draw. INNIT
Nath, what planet are you on. We are beyond shit mate
look stats come out when they played shit earlier fooking bring out the stats now ~ apart from the score~line which is the important one ~ the game was end to end villa did av some nice passing movements but doesn’t matter who u are if u give goals away, penalties silly mistakes u wont win many.
comes again to the important point of PLAYERS are not good ENOUGH to carry out GAMEPLANS error FREE
Nath, stats mean very little most of the time, Bayern had 76% posession or somthing over Real the other night, more passes, more shots and it counted for fuck all.
You’re positivity and your comments are somewhat bizarre mate and it makes you look like you don’t what your talking about. We are relying on other teams to do us favours and to kep us in this league for the second season in a row, and this year is worse. How you can come with a comment showing any faith in our management – “if the managers and staff can pick up our players” – is embarassing imo.
Most of the fans are fuming right now and you sound carefree like, “we should manage a draw”, it’s shocking to be honest.
i could not careless myself on stats ~ but some little girls on ere moaned when we beat soton, 1 nil can u recall , less than 30 % seems like we moan just 4 the sake of it
my comments on picking up the players is cause i saw the players lose there WILL last 15 minutes they gave up and if we stay up, its the nxt game which will count. 4 1 is a mini hammering but if u look at the game stats villa had chances gd movements and effort for the first hour,
i know nothing ok 🙂 thats ur opinion i will allow u that ,now take 2 ppl who will agree with u
I’m not sure moaning for the sake of it is a valid excuse anymore Nath. We moan because there is something really and truly wrong with our club.
Lambert hasn’t managed to pick the players up for more than 15 minute spells in a handful of games since he’s been manager so again, I don’t see your point there.
I’m not here to be agreed with but at the moment the genral consensus from Villa fans is exaclty how I feel.
I didn’t say you know nothing, it just looks like you don’t when you conitnue to make dilluded positive comments like “personally i think villa played very well” after every defeat.
Lastly, the wins we’ve managed have been just as bad as our losses imo and most of the time luck has helped us through, sorry if I don’t jump on the happy wagon when we win.
don’t get personal draper, i said ” PPL seem to moan just 4 the sake of it” this was in response of ppl moaning after victories like the soton one i referred 2,
sumat is wrong i agree totally we are shit, the squad is shit and it not gonna get much better than we av seen all season, we are on the ropes, dead on our feet, unless we get a point at home against the tigers, our premier league lives rest in the hands of others. NOW is THAT deluded, no it isn’t its being a realistic.
wins are wins lastly we are amongst the worst side in the league which is sad but true. points are needed however we get um. luck had nothing 2do with it. u are living in the past ,this is not the same team in 80’s or 90’s its now and its been run in the ground.
Here is lamberks comments from OS site. Hull at home is our cup final ffs. Then at the bottom the club have the audacity to try and sell tickets for the game. Unfuckinbelievable!!
Paul Lambert has labelled the home clash with Hull next weekend a “cup final” as they strive for the victory that he believes would ensure safety in the Barclays Premier League.
Lambert says the Tigers clash is a “must-win” as Villa lie 16th in the top-flight table on 35 points, two places off the drop zone.
His comments follow the 4-1 defeat to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, a loss he believes was defined by the second goal scored by Jonjo Shelvey.
He said: “I am really disappointed to lose, really disappointed.
“We started the game really well. We lost a goal but we deservedly got right back into the match with a really good one ourselves. We got ourselves back into it.
“We then lost a poor goal. That second was a major turning point. It was a great finish but it was an error on our part.
“There wasn’t much too much in it at that time. The second goal was the major turning point though.
“We weren’t too despondent going in at half-time.
The third goal took the wind out of our sails. The fourth goal was disappointing. Gabby had a similar one that wasn’t given in the first half.
“We still need one more win.
“It’s a must-win match next week. The lads know how big it is. It’s a cup final. We have to win it.
“There are three really tough games to finish. It’s not a position we want to be in. But we are. Next week’s is a must-win.”
Snap up match tickets for Villa v Hull.
hull game is massive there isn’t any doubts about it and deluded has been used lots 2day. but ppl are deluded if they think steve bruce will allow tigers 2play anything below their best, places in the starting line up for cupfinal are on the line.no villa will not be lucky we will av 2 earn it
At this stage of the season performance means fuck all. All that matters is we lost 4.1. Results will keep us up performance won’t!!
And I rest my case, Lamberk sheep no 1
i anit no wollieBACK prick
Your a twat Nath the way you go on and make excuse after excuse, for gods sake wake up, you always got to say things different to others, Villa are shit full stop, have been for years but you cannot see what people see, Lambert is and will be crap all his years in football he knows sweet f a on the game.
u know sumat bill i would love meet up and buy u a beer if u dare talk 2 me face to face like u type away just try it one pint anything u want
Can’t agree when you say we were good, but I do agree when you say these lads care for stats when it suits, and the same people now saying forget stats. Ha. Jokers. 1st half ok, second half stayed in the changing room.
Reliant on other sides again. Awful way to have to end up but there’s fuck all we can do about it except support this shite until the end.
Up the Villa
gutless is the only way i can describe our team . no fight no passion . do they care . i am starting to think they don’t. villa should put every first team player on the transfer list and sack lambert tonight . if the players cant raise there game when we are in this position then they don’t deserve to play in the prem . gabby and wiemann are a joke . even if we stay up i would get rid of both of them.
Agree Domingo I just don’t know where next point is coming from. I think if we stay up it will be on gd not points. Either way it’s a disgrace the players and management should hang their heads in shame
Totally agree Domingo, I would sell them all, first time ever that I don’t care who we sell ib the summer! They are all useless.
Entirely predictable performance and result. At least today showed that the problems at the club were not Culverhouse and Karsa but Lamberk.
Now where are all you Lamberk sheep who love to suck up to every mumble from the useless dour oaf
nath you really are a deluded clown. (Edited by Badger, because that’s the sort of abuse we’re talking about. Please keep comments reasonable and you’ll be able to post freely, no problem.)
deluded why am i deluded ~ the squad is paper thin the quality is lacking. i knew last season we were gonna be there, or there about around the drop zone . players brought in the summer, were speculative at best. your deluded if you saw anything better,
as for today swansea simply beat us, nothing to do with tactics, the game was close much closer than the scoreline. bad mistakes at vital times and the better side won, i am far from deluded maybe a realist.
ur post would apear much quicker is u had the balls 2 post ur opinions with ur real name
I feel sorry for people who have committed to season tickets. Bet they regret that already!!
i agree oohah they are diehard fans and i take my TIN hat off in their respect.
Me too Nath. Fair play to them
BREAKING NEWS: Lambert has attempted to fall on his sword this evening. The bad news is that Tonev has been supervising and so far he’s missed the target 181 times.
Nath I was going to wait for the mumbling buffoon to come out with the usual bollox post match but I see you’ve beat him to it lol
well giddy sheep i am not i stand alone i am big enough 2 hold my views regardless of wot names u can me or the manager lmao please be gentle name calling can be dangerous
What name calling? I said Lambert was a buffoon I commented on your positive thoughts lol stop being so touchy mate.
well i apologize giddy 🙂 iam sick of the abuse, i get for saying wot i see.
No harm in feeling the way you do I carnt see it nor can many on here, just keep fighting your corner if that’s how you feel. Good luck
Nath, I admire people who don’t go with the flow.
Don’t worry about the abuse.
While me and Oohah see it as still banterish, it’ll be allowed.
We’re footy fans and that’s all part of it after all. Not to mention that we get plenty of it too (well Oohah mostly actually :-))
But we draw the line at personal abuse and people have and will be pulled up if we think they’re out of order mate, no worries.
no harm in banter, i love to hear opinions same or differ from my own, i won’t stand for abuse i understand we all the same, and we all are hurting. no worries in my corner
Badger you said before the April fixtures normally you’d be doing somersaults 1 poxey point mate, even worse than expected.
most league defeats in a season,3more to come
Lambert just can’t stop breaking records, I think it’s a mission for him now to break them all!
penalty
how comes the canary didn’t get sent off last man and all 1 nil man utd
Giddy, yes, normally, is the point.
Mostly teams we’d expect to beat.
Just shows how poor we are mate 🙁
Phew! Man Utd 2 – 0 Norwich
So far so good…But damn it, Lambert & Lerner you have reduced me to cheering for Sky’s spoilt love child, and that for me is totally unforgivable!! UTV
3 nil utd
looks like relying on other teams may be needed, i don’t like it anymore than u. but if u av the worst squad in the premiership wot else can u expect
