Transfer Gossip Round Up

imageimageThe new season is just round the corner and we have had a few players in and are awaiting maybe one or two more.We have signed Phil Senderos,Joe Cole,Kieran Richardson and recently Aly Cissokho.
Senderos,Cole and Cissokho have all played at Champions League level which should bring a wealth of footballing know how to the team.
Roy Keane joining was met with mixed views but for me was a good addition to AVFC bringing in a man who is a winner at the highest level, who has managed, has guts and connections.Im all for Roy Keane and think Lambert and Keane will do well.
Now onto recent rumours of players linked with AVFC.
There is nothing concrete in these rumours so take them as you will.
There is a lot of talk of Carlos Sanchez the Columbian DM from Elche joining AVFC.It is not concrete but he is said to be joining at the latest Tuesday this is just talk so let’s see what happens.
Also another rumour is we have tabled a new bid for Ki which is a deal Roy Keane has had his hand in sorting out but we will have to wait and see on that one to.
Would love both in to strengthen the midfield which is in my opinion the main priority….utv

Good info JD. I also feel that Keane’s appointment will have considerable benefit. Would love to see Ki come in. Dont know too much about Sanchez but reading about him seems to suggest that he is exactly the kind of DM we have been crying out for. These 2 signings would make us into a decent mid table side IMO.
BrIng it on! 6 days to go.

8-6th? You must still have a bit of sun stroke mate. 18 points we were behind 8th last season. Who is going to score? Hope Lamberk finally shows the balls to drop Gabby. He’s done nothing in the last 3 seasons to be an automatic pick. I hope you’re right Bill but are you sure all the sangria is out of your system?

I gather we’re not the only Team after him so getting excited about it would be a little premature.

I love all this optimism from my fellow villains 6th-8th ,top 10 etc , my prediction is more of the same , most probably 15th-17th lucky to survive the drop again I also think that by the end of September we will be in the bottom 3 maybe even rock bottom looking at the fixture list . Sorry but I am realist we have spent virtually no money and only signed players nobody else in the premier league wants .

I’m not a glass half empty kind of person, but surely top half of the table is blind optimism. 6th to 10th would be out of the question in my opinion. Sure we’re a great club who should be challenging top 6, but in recent times we’re in a mini league with the likes of Sunderland, Hull, West Ham etc. They’ve all made good additions whereas we’ve halted. 12th – 15th I’d be happy with in our current situation.

Our signings are uninspiring to say the least the only one I’m remotely excited about is Keane cause I really think he could improve our midfield tactically and players like Delph will relish training with him, whatever people think of him as a man doesn’t matter because he is a winner at the highest level and was a leader on and off the pitch and demands respect, I highly doubt we will see a lack of effort from the players with Keane on the sideline!

Cissoko I think will improve us at LB so I’m happy enough with him but like we have been saying for years now we have to get that DM and still an AM IMO because nzogbia has been hit and miss and we can’t expect young grealish to rip the league up in his 1st season no mater how much talent he has.

A good friend of mine is a Leeds fan and I said a few weeks ago we might be down with them next year but he thinks we will still be one league above them, simply because he thinks Leeds will be drop to league 1 next year! But fir some reason I have become a little more positive recently and think we can scrape 17th. Ambitious I know…

Would like to have 25 points before end on December to have chance of staying up. Think it will be same as before in that we rely on there being 3 teams worse than us. I had more optimism last year than this year. Watched Premier league years on Sky the other night. Season 07/08. Showed highlights of some villa games and it just hit me how far we have fallen in such a short space of time. #Depressed before its begun.

Villa haven’t stood still or gone backwards this summer. Squad is stronger, and I’m optimistic. Blind faith? Maybe, but that’s the role of the supporter.

See PL is getting hacked off by Koeman’s public pursuit of Vlaar. Didn’t O’Dreary get into trouble for exactly the same thing? or is my memory playing tricks! Must keep Vlaar as well as signing a good DM. I really don’t know anything about Sanchez or Ki but sounds like they would be good additions. To me the squad already looks a lot stronger than last year so to say we have stood still (or gome backwards for some on here) lacks objectivity. Are we good enough to stay or even achieve mid table ………. only time will tell but I’m cautiously optimistic!

Just when I was scratching my head about what to write for a new post, JD saves the day.
    Cheers mate 🙂

I can’t say I know much about Sanchez, but he does seem like the sort we need.
I reckon he’d get on with Keane like a house on fire 🙂

With Benteke seemingly coming back earlier than expected, things might actually start to be looking up a bit.

I’ve just been reading an article about Albrighton looking forward to playing for Leicester.
Letting him go still wrankles with me, especially after a suggestion on here that Lambert might go with a bit more width this time.

If we dont improve from last season then its down to management. I have been easy on Lambert up to now. Have a reality check lads. I am convinced that had Hutton and Bent been in the squad last season we would have been 2 or 3 places higher. Add to that longterm injuries to Tekkers, Kozak, CNZ and Okore and it should be no surprise that we struggled. With the 4 additions and the 6 mentioned earlier its plain to see that we have more depth and quality in the squad this time around. Further to that Bacuna had a good first PL season IMO. If we can get decent performces consistently from Gabby and Andi coupled with improvements from KEA and Westwood we will be well clear of the ‘R’ zone this season. I also hope that Grealish, Gardner and Robinson can realise their undoubted potential (in particular Grealish needs to step up to 1st team level)….there is no doubt in my mind That Grealish is a star in the making and I am totally bewildered that he as yet to be offered a new contract……sign him up NOW before the Sky 4 start asking about him!
    Top 10 finish

Actually I’d suggest it’s a fair point and with many of us suggesting that he’s probably the best RB we’ve got, just another that shows how far we have fallen 🙁
Which is probably what Bencey was getting at, at a guess.

Hutton does really well for Scotland..we all know deep down its a McLeish thing. I feel we should give the lad a fair chance! At the very least he shows more drive, fight and spirit than others in the team.
Wont be too long before Keane has him breaking a few legs 🙂
