Transfer Gossip Round Up

imageimageThe new season is just round the corner and we have had a few players in and are awaiting maybe one or two more.We have signed Phil Senderos,Joe Cole,Kieran Richardson and recently Aly Cissokho.
Senderos,Cole and Cissokho have all played at Champions League level which should bring a wealth of footballing know how to the team.
Roy Keane joining was met with mixed views but for me was a good addition to AVFC bringing in a man who is a winner at the highest level, who has managed, has guts and connections.Im all for Roy Keane and think Lambert and Keane will do well.
Now onto recent rumours of players linked with AVFC.
There is nothing concrete in these rumours so take them as you will.
There is a lot of talk of Carlos Sanchez the Columbian DM from Elche joining AVFC.It is not concrete but he is said to be joining at the latest Tuesday this is just talk so let’s see what happens.
Also another rumour is we have tabled a new bid for Ki which is a deal Roy Keane has had his hand in sorting out but we will have to wait and see on that one to.
Would love both in to strengthen the midfield which is in my opinion the main priority….utv

It emerged yesterday that Elche midfielder Carlos Sanchez may be a target for Aston Villa, and reports in Spain now say that he is to fly in for a medical this morning and sign a three-year contract after the clubs struck a deal. Elche are keen to bring in a replacement quickly and are thought to be in talks with Swansea City over Jose Canas.

Cant imagine we are looking for a CB
    Vlaar
    Senderos
    Okore
    Baker
    Clark
    Donacien
    Lowton in an emergency
    Herd in an emergency
Lol….how many more would you like?

Don’t want it too happen, just the rumour going around. I know most will think Vlaar’s going then, but do wonder if Baker or Clark could be sold if they like Batth.

Other name doing the rounds is Sako.

We have to be looking at the midfield!! KEA and Westwood arent good enough and right now look like they are starters!

If there was this magical 10m to spend, then the rest needs to be spent there. We have to rely on Okore coming good at the back and playing alongside Vlaar….or Sendeross proving many of us wrong! Up front we will be okay once Kozak and Benteke are back, in the meantime Bent/Weimann will have to step up.

Vlaar WONT be sold…..Lerner could potentially be commiting financial suicide if the unthinkable should happen as a result of selling him?

      I tend to agree Langford.
Plus what sign will it send out to the fans if we do sell him?
I’d certainly see it as pretty much a white flag being raised. That won’t happen, imo.

I hope you’re right about Vlaar, but if United do come in for him, i dont think we will be able to stop the transfer happening. I think we can hold off bids from the likes of Southampton and QPR, but teams in and around the CL will be difficult…and you cant blame him if he does want to go to one of these teams.

Benno… I see where your coming from mate but the fee we could potentially get for him is peanuts compared to what we could lose in revenue longterm. Personally, I would offer him a reasonably good contract similar to Tekkers. If he turns that down then let him run his contract down. I feel thats our best option.

Its true, we could just hold onto him even if he doesnt sign the contract but given the penny pinching that is happening at the moment, i think they will cash in (in spite of the risk of going down) if he doesnt sign.

Good news about Tonev. He wouldnt be playing for us this season, so nice to ship him out. Maybe he will find his level in the SPL… or at least the target!

Its also a good sign for us bringing in another midfielder this week, Fingers crossed.

Nope but if you paid attention he claimed Bendtner broke down before half the media even claimed we offered him a contract and Ki was in the mix between us and was still talking to Swansea over an extension. So…. Yes, he gets just about everything right.

8th to 10th position? Is this a wind up?
Now there is optimism and there’s stupidity – 8th to 10th position is bordering on the latter but still whatever floats your boat.
Keep tugging on them crack pipes and/or dropping those acid tabs and you enjoy that cocoon of an alternative reality they’ve helped you induce.
