Transfer Gossip Round Up

imageimageThe new season is just round the corner and we have had a few players in and are awaiting maybe one or two more.We have signed Phil Senderos,Joe Cole,Kieran Richardson and recently Aly Cissokho.
Senderos,Cole and Cissokho have all played at Champions League level which should bring a wealth of footballing know how to the team.
Roy Keane joining was met with mixed views but for me was a good addition to AVFC bringing in a man who is a winner at the highest level, who has managed, has guts and connections.Im all for Roy Keane and think Lambert and Keane will do well.
Now onto recent rumours of players linked with AVFC.
There is nothing concrete in these rumours so take them as you will.
There is a lot of talk of Carlos Sanchez the Columbian DM from Elche joining AVFC.It is not concrete but he is said to be joining at the latest Tuesday this is just talk so let’s see what happens.
Also another rumour is we have tabled a new bid for Ki which is a deal Roy Keane has had his hand in sorting out but we will have to wait and see on that one to.
Would love both in to strengthen the midfield which is in my opinion the main priority….utv

        Hitchens, your reply worked perfectly.
Sometimes, it won’t work though, as replies in the same group are limited to 5 (our choice, so it doesn’t mess up the whole thing too much).
        Posting a link is easy.

If you look at the very top of this page, you’ll see it says “www.astonvillaviews.co .uk.transfer-gossip-round up/comment-page-6/~comments”.
        That’s the bit you want.
Well, the same sort of thing on the page you want to link to, that is.
Right click on that line, then left click on “copy”.

Then come on here, open a reply and in the box, right click and then left click “paste”.

        Easy peasy!
        HTH.

So easy, you won’t get your breath.
Even my missus can do it and she’s totally useless when it comes to comps.
You must know someone younger, with half a brain 😉 who can show you, surely?

Several non-European players are owned by a third party company. This comes from the entirely sensible and legal way footballers can spread tax over a lifetime in many countries, which somehow gets European tax authorities blood boiling.

You are going to earn a lot of money as a player, and from image rights, bu it is only for maybe six years, then 90% of players drop out of the game altogether earning nothing from work. Your income tax could be 75% in France 45% here, and over 50% in much of Latin America. So you sell yourself to a company which sells your playing duties to your club, collects your earnings gross and pays you only a fraction during your playing career, investing the rest. It then pays you a steady income once you quit playing thus reducing your total income tax bill.

The situation in Europe is tax authorities accept this for image rights but not for wages, and they have strong armed EUFA (remember Tevez) to block obvious fiddles between the two pots.

Thanks for that explanation OLL. Makes perfect sense. I had always assumed it was just agents, particularly in South America, getting rich by speculating on the futures of young talent. I suppose they still are but you can see the attraction from the players POV.

Hitchens, if you’re still having problems, just make sure you type the name of the person you’re responding to. Then even if it comes at the bottom, it’s obvious.
And it’s actually a very good way of getting debate rolling again sometimes, as replies left higher up the page can easily get missed.

Ok, back to the subject in hand (no jokes please!).

I have to say, I hope we get this Sanchez bloke, although I suspect very many of us can’t even recall him in the WC.
We definitely need a DM who can get stuck in and for me, a crafty sort, who can break up play with a cultured right dirty foul, when things are looking dangerous 🙂
I don’t normally condone that sort of thing, but it’s what we need, if we want to be safer in the table than we otherwise might be.

Lambert being interested in him suggests to me he might actually be quite decent, as any decent money spent by the manager has not been wasted (Benteke and Vlaar spring to mind) if you think about it.

As has been hinted at though, Elche and Valenciennes aren’t exactly top level are they?
So why aren’t other clubs in for him?

As I said, I hope we get him, as he’ll possibly be the best we actually buy this season.
And tbh, it’s a great roller coaster of a signing.

I don’t want to have to notice a defensive midfielder. You can bet your bottom dollar that Colombia wouldn’t have done much without a good player in that role.

Yep, good point Kent and one I can’t argue.
One point though and that is Columbia were a very good TEAM, without any outstanding players, the obvious apart.
Are Villa equally as good a TEAM? I personally don’t think so and indeed it often looks like the players don’t know each other at all.

JD, if that’s true, I can’t argue with that one either.

    The “Rock” and “Concrete”.
    I like it.
