Villa 0- 2 Everton; Another home loss

It’s taken me a while to think of what to say here, as I actually think we did ok overall and for most of that game, it didn’t deserve us losing by two goals.

You could probably even go so far as to say we were the better side for the first half hour, with us doing what we do best in playing fast and furious, taking it to them and generally doing a pretty good job.

Benteke’s penalty decision was a bit soft, as there was no intent in my opinion, but yes, he’s brought him down so probably the correct decision.

The resulting penalty effort was reasonable, but Howard made an excellent save in a game that looked like it was going to be a battle of the goalies, not the Belgians.

Talking of which, when Benteke’s Pen was saved, I got a feeling it wasn’t going to be our day.

Lukaku’s goal was a bit unexpected by me, although I suspect a few of you might disagree. I thought we were holding our own and countering pretty well.

We were fading slowly though, just as I was expecting and the second goal just killed the game didn’t it?

I’m loathe to slate the defence, as we’d kept a decent Everton side restricted to few chances, but well, they were poor for the goal weren’t they?

Luna had a shocker and for me Baker did much better when he took over.

Again, I can’t really fault the team for effort, but again we just looked bereft of quality.

And I know we were playing a team on a roll and flying high, but the simple fact is we’ve now lost four out of five at home.

That’s not even relegation form.

We quite simply have to get it sorted out, as for some reason it’s just not working. Regardless of who you play, you should at least be expecting some draws.

Laugh of the day?

Tim Howard’s beard. Am I the only one who thought he had his head on upside-down?

It’s not funny though really, is it?

Sick of going down villa park and loosing this has been going on since mon era .
Are we really expected to accept this relegation fight season in season out , surely we should be aiming for higher than this !
The fact is taking Benteke out of the equation the team/squad is made up of a load of players bought on the cheap who can’t compete week in week out , so frankly what’s the point because I’m sick to death of loosing , something has to change

Luna wasn’t on the pitch long enough to say he had a shocker Gabby and Andi Weiman on the other hand had 90 minutes to confirm how bad they were! Gabby has to be fast as he needs to recover after his first touch and Weiman is a headless chicken who has no idea of what is going on around him! They have scored one goal in 8 games between them! Open your eyes Lambert, they rarely deliver! Also, Delph is a one man midfield! Bacuna has to play in midfield, Lowton in at right back, Sylla in for Westwood, stick with Tonev and give Helenius a start. It can’t be much worse than today, at the very least we could watch players who can control the football without needing 5 touches!

Agree mate except Luna bit he was our worst player until he was taken of. And has been one of our worse players this season.

You turn up at VP, we lose. So glad I don’t have an ST any more, being back today just reminded of what an ambitionless and directionless club we are. Watching the Villa used to be a weekly highlight, now its just a chore, depressing viewing watching the same useless players making errors and yet another boring woeful manager.

Gabby has probably four or five good games a season people are desperate for him to be a legend but unless things change in 30 years time he will be remembered as a Villa stalwart and nothing else . The positive being you all know one day in the future he is destined to do something very very special

Yes, Joe Bennett then! Luna was getting pulled apart by Mirallas today, Townesend last week and Ben Arfa, (not done a tap since), murdered him when Newcastle came to town! Baker could play there, defensively good but he lacks anything going forward. Lambert compounded our problems today by switching Baker to left back, Everton let Baker have the freedom of the the left side knowing he would create nowt! Are there any other left backs available!

2 left backs signed by Lambert, one in Luna is a championship player and Bennett, well IMO he is one of the worst players ever to play in the top flight.
And people want to give Lambert more time- what so he can buy more Bennetts, KEA’s, Westwood’s, etc. Lambert Out, Lerner Out!

Fucking shite… I am sick to death of 6 hours travelling, spending a hundred quid every fortnight just to watch a club with absolutely NO ambition. The cutbacks, although neccesary, were too much, too quick. We are left, in the main, with a honest bunch of players, most of which would NOT be entertained by any other PL club. I dont blame Lambert, other than to say he must be yet another ‘yes man’ , employed solely to keep us up with a ‘pittance’ to spend in the transfer market. A yank by the name of Lerner is slowly, like a cancer destroying my love of this great club. I am sure, that there are many more fellow Villans who feel the same way! The worst thing for me is that Lerner never opens his fucking gob to explain how he is going to move us forward. His lack of communication borders on ignorance…..we deserve commnication at the very least…. He says fuck all, and like his sidekick Faulkner is simply not up to being at the helm of a great football club. Great clubs need football people from top to bottom and NOT people who do not realise how much we have been hurt in the last 4 years……does he even care anymore?..did he ever care?
Its time to call it a day Mr Randolph Lerner cos……
The Villa is OURS, the Villa is OURS, fuck off Lerner, the Villa is OURS
We will NOT be relegated, but that is NOWHERE NEAR good enoug for this great club

It’s sad Delph’s our best performing midfielder. It’s not that he really does anything special, but he tries hard, and sticks a foot in. That’s really about all he even does. No real technical ability, passing ability, shooting ability. But Westwood’s not your hard working player, not your long passing midfielder nor is he much of a free kick taker. I still think KEA’s good enough as a squad player and Sylla would be our best midfielder if he’s ever played. We need a whole need midfield.

Still like Luna, still think he’d be better if he had cover from a DM we don’t have, as Delph never moves out wide like most DM’s do. I don’t really trust playing Baker at LB, still hesitant to see our only 3 CB’s playing at one time. I’d honestly say fuck it and play Stevens at LB again.

What a load of shit we have, Jay Dee don’t come on here no more with negative excuse, one player was on that pitch today playing football who, Vlaar, second to him was Cuzan, we have a manager that’s so bad in knowledge of the game its un believable, Benteke was poor, Weimann, poor, Westwood, poor should I carry on, he has played again players out of possison how can Benteke perform with no balls from the wing, Gabby was crap playing in a central roll, I’m fed up with people telling me give it time, Lambert is dire in football knowledge, basically a con man to the game, get rid now.

They are rubbish full stop , don’t keep saying give them time ffs, its enough for anyone to take, Aston Villa are in a fight again to keep off that bottom spot, I watched today’s game with 8 Everton fans , they asked me what’s going on with the Villa? Great club no direction, what can I say to them? 215 games with each other, and we dish up that type of game.

    McLeish’s home form : W4 D7 L8 ; Points per game : 1.0

If we are competing then we are improving.Everton are a good side but we did used to be just as good.It used to be us and Everton side by side neck and neck.We have had a bad few years it’s been a shame for all of us to watch our club drop.If we are in another relegation fight this season and the table looks to be splitting already then we can start to question Lamberts ability and Lerners dedication but until that time we have to wait and see…you will know by Xmas UTV

sorry state of affairs at the Villa at the moment mate when you see Saints 3rd in the league with a bright young european manager, sitting comfortably and with more than likely cash in the bank for January, The honeymoon period is long gone with Lambert for me (if there ever was one). It is getting a bit ridiculous, how can you support a guy that has, according to Dans statistic of the year, a worse home record than the man who I shall not name. That’s a disgrace, I don’t get down to VP anymore but I’d be fuming to go along and watch us do fuck all in front of goal, and generally fuck all everywhere on the field (of late anyway). Benteke will be off in Jan, mark my works and then what do we do, suddenly bring in Helenius or Bowery or rely on Kozak??? I don’t even want to begin
